JJSS suspended one game?

The Iioka hit was clearly headhunting too... as proof look at the multiple other times he launched at his head and missed... including once where he literally never saw the ball as it hit him in the shoulder cause he was trying to put Brown out....

we arent using ben. He is a QB.

I already made your example.. And no i woujldnt be outraged.

It was a legit block. Juju shouldnt be suspended.

A QB outside of the pocket is no longer protected the same way.

It was not legit that why he was suspended. Period.

It was tge definition of the Hines Ward rule... his helmet caught burfict in the head and neck area on a blindside block... thats not legal anymore

Gronk gets 1 little game for a forearm to the back of the dude's head out of bounds and well after the play.
Juju suspended for a questionable block within the elements of the game... I just don't understand it. Makes no sense whatsoever.

Nothing questionable about the block, it was legal, there are plenty of replays out there to prove it and if the referees had any cujones they wouldn't have called it. The taunting fell under NFL rules and the penalty assessed was correct. Now, thanks to the negative attention Smith-Shuster will pay a fine and forfeit a game check. Fa-King ridiculous. Did the BenGals S/T player that jumped offsides during the final seconds & FG attempt and kicked Boz in the ankle get suspended or fined? Oh wait, the Steelers were awarded the yards for the offsides?
The League is BS

These suspensions are a new rule or new way of dealing with the rule. If that is the case, as I said in my earlier post, there has to be at least a dozen suspensions coming after this weekends games. Those hits happen in pretty much every game.

They need to just add the targeting rule that college already has. My guess is that will be discussed at the next meeting to adopt new rules.

I'm not really surprised. Knockout hit with taunting. Yea, he was getting a game. While Burfict was on the turf, he should have finished him off and did a "Gronk". THAT would have warranted the game suspension, for sure.

I predicted this in the game thread. Goodell is a complete media *****. He does whatever they command. There is nobody in charge of the NFL. They should replace the commissioner with an intern who just does twitter polls all day on various topics, then forwards the results to a committe who then does whatever twitter says. That would be the same thing as Goodell running the show.

This is so like Goodell. There is a reaction to the game. And some of that was based upon the Shazier injury which was poor tackling technique period. So now theyve completely circumnavigated the concept of prior history and gone right to suspensions. And they knew they had to suspend Ioka because his was worse. So if that same type play happens in the NFC or AFC championship. Bad head to head contact you are going to suspend? ****** idiot always paints himself in a corner and always sbout the Steelers.

Listening to Chucky in the booth and ESPN Smith and his gang on First Take, I thought the world ended last night. The league had to do something. I still like how Chucky or anyone else mentioned the field goal try where Bungals were off sides and the players stops on purpose and put his leg up to hit our kicker on follow through. I know by listening to all the sports talk the Steelers are bums and the Bungals are models for all children . Feeling sorry for Burfict just does not fit. Yes JUJU was stupid for that taunting crap. You do need to shake your head when you see what fighters got on the field and a TE runs ten yards after the play to hit one on purpose gets the same punishment,

I saw him lift his leg to block the kick, but I didn't see contact with the follow through.

Looks like JuJu was suspended for taunting an injured player. That will be tough to defend, even though he is appealing. So the question is, do you take the suspension and serve it against the Ravens, or appeal and miss the Pats game? I'd serve the ravens matchup over the Pats every time.

I think it is funny how all you people think Goodell tells the owners what to do. If the owners didn't want this to happen, his *** would have been down the road a few years ago. Thinking the Rooneys are not part of the same problem is just lying to yourself.

The NFL as us older people knew it is dead and gone, it ain't coming back, ever. The golden goose has been slaughtered. The current focus is on casual fans with lots of discretionary money, and the fantasy ***** who don't have any loyalty. This is exactly why I do not spend any of my hard earned cash on their powderpuff product. I will still watch it if it is on TV and I do not have to pay for it.

he got one game, as well.

I don't think he should have either. Sure, it was a hit to the head, but it was in the context of a play and I don't recall thinking that he did it on purpose.

There are 256 matchups in a year. 48 make it to prime time. The NFL puts Steelers/Bengals on tge prime time schedule every year. Usually Steelers/Ravens too. Why? And now they act all high and mighty. If Shazier wasnt injured and this wasnt prime time. Zero people would be talking about it. **** off Goodell.

I watched the replay serval times in slow mo. JuJu even had his body a bit sideways and led with his shoulder / forearm which he planted in Burficts chest. His head made contact with Burficts but JuJu was certainly not head hunting. The suspension is unwarranted in my opinion.
I think the hit on brown was worse. The defender led written his head and smashed into Browns head.

Two things: the posturing he did makes it hard for them to not suspend. Also, the other hit on Brown needed to be handled with suspension IMO, but I can see the league feeling it had to do both of these the same.

If Im a lawyer I can trott in video evidence that those plays happen every Sunday and are fined. This was the temperature of the game and the post game reaction. Period.

Bullshit. Taunting is an unsportsmanlike infraction with a fifteen yard penalty assessed. The second unsportsmanlike assessment to the same player like flagrant unnecessary roughness can get you ejected. The Bengals got their 15 yards and the block was legal. The referee should have never made the call the block was legal. The game was out of control from the kickoff and that's the officials fault.
I'm now wondering if this horse dung will transcend into the Rats Game. Let's see, the Rats are trying t "keep their playoff hopes alive" and the Steelers are 10-2 just like the anointed Patriots?
Yep, the Steelers will be characterized by the media ****** as "dirty, filthy and rotten cheap shot artists" this week and dem po po Ratbirds are going to be the "victims" and get away with holding, PI's and late hits. Can't have the Steelers keeping pace with the Pats now can we?

Fire Goodell. This needs to be escalated beyond just Jerry Jones. AR2 needs to step up and demand Goodell be fired.

I agree it’s BS, I’m pissed that people are saying the hit was illegal. I think is a great block. Im just supposing how officials might justify what they are doing. I think his hit was legal and might not have been flagged if he continued play and not do the posturing.
