Yesterday I was insane over what I thought was the Steelers protest in which they were not on the field in solidarity with the NFL players protest of black lives matter. What I didn't know and I believe most of everyone in Steelers Nation is that this was a planes protest of all the NFL teams, play ed for yesterday. The Steelers stand was they did not want to be part of this controversial protest. Not that missing the Anthem was their protest. I'm still not sure how I feel about this but I feel better today then yesterday. The Commissioner should of taken care of this way baxk when Cappy started all of this simply by saying, "not on the field only on your own time". It falls on his shoulders. Just wanted to share this with everyone. It took me 4 hours to get through to a Steelers office who would take the time to explain clearly their intentions. **** YOU Kaepernick!!

Whatever you simply tell the players this is how we are doing it. Simple. Stand interlock arms whatever, but ******* stand for the anthem.

i dont really buy it.

I think Tomlin didnt want to make everyone stand out there. I think rather than have bad blood between players, he just removed the whole possibility of a problem

If it was to ensure the organization wasnt going to be embarrassed, i think it was the right thing.
If it was Tomlin's way of showing support, passive aggressively i think it was terrible.

Hey lets not forget what all the NFL protests are for. Black lives matter.

I think all lives matter, and killer cops should be prosecuted with blind justice.

It was the PLAYERS decision not Tomlin's -- if you notice he was on the field during the national Anthem... And don't give me the crap that he should have made them -- they were not the ONLY team that did this -- they just were the first .

It did not come across like they intended it to ... it was suppose to be a " NO COMMENT " stance ..

One of the political analysts I heard yesterday said it best - (paraphrased ) - we look to our officials to try to buffer issues regardless of what their feelings are NOT make them worse.. So take it for what my opinion is worth I think that is NO place for Politics and I despise that we have become a DIVIDED nation .. which keeps getting WORSE not better ..

All this **** with kneeling for the National Anthem. NFL players needs to find another way to bring attention to racial injustices of black people being killed by cops. Don't disrespect the history of our country and you stand to honor the men and women of this country who fought for your right to live in a free country!

Wear an armband, headband, sticker, logo or something. Don't not stand to honor American and the men and women who fought for our country!

It is simple as this, really.

I have said it many times, it is a misguided protest, by people too stupid to realize how it will be PERCEIVED, and too arrogant to adjust their tactics. They would have so many more people with them if they were to only admit their mistake and shift tactics. I personally agree with their protest of the police, as they are way out of control in this country, but will NEVER support their disrespect of the flag or our country.

These morons are being led by a MUSLIM who hates everything this country stands for, Colin Kapperneck's GIRLFRIEND. She put this **** in his head, and he WILLINGLY went out and started it. All those who continue to follow are being misled by a PR campaign.

If you feel so strongly that you need to protest what you believe is black oppression by white officers during the national anthem - there is a perfect model for doing that which is famous AND patriotic.

This nation was divided long before the election.

Trump is not the solution, but he's certainly not the real problem. We need a complete politcal enema. And at the end neither the republicans or the democrats can remain. All the house and the senate must be swept away and an entirely new group of representatives must be put into place that are held accountable to their constituents on a constant basis.

This was a non issue in terms of the Steelers the first two weeks, turned into a huge issue by standing in the tunnel. Just do what you've been doing.

I do not disagree that the country was divided before the election -- but instead of getting better it is getting WORSE -- not pointing fingers but please use come common sense --

common sense stopped the minute they invaded the sport with their politics

Listening to Tunch and Wolf, I’m glad to hear Tomlin and all the coaches were on the field representing the team at least. Of course the media says nothing about this.

I have not gotten over the fact I thought the Steelers were a step ahead of other teams in character, they buckled and became run of the mill. No matter what ones think of the President, he has the same rights as players to voice his thought as well. You can give all the stats you want but many of us fans felt this was taking the NFL product down when it originally started. Tomlin may have been on the field but he lied when he said he made the decision, he is the head coach does he run the team during game day or the players. Another thing in this missed is Mitchell running on field with face cover as ones on TV in streets, destroying property and stealing, sad commentary on the Steelers yesterday. Fans a day later can pick and choose but they were chumps, before game during and after.

Couldn’t have said it better. No, that’s too easy!

They’re rather make this about them. All this blown out of proportion that could have been handled as you mentioned.

what people miss was this was NOT a protest for the discrimination issue but the Protests yesterday were for what was said by the President . who I may add is STILL fueling the fire .. Keep Dividing the nation ..

Kinda like youre doing right now?

Well, it's getting worse because the left wants it that way. They want disruption and chaos - its how they roll. This flag issue was going on with Kaperpunk all of last year, before Trump came. Trump just lifted the lid off an already over boiling pot, which was going to blow with or without Trump.
