2016-2017 Pens----Still with 100% more Kessel

Glad I worked late last night.

What's up with Sid?

Can anyone explain the 10 minute major to Geno?

I'm thinking that the Browns stole the Pens uniforms and played hockey last night.

Sheary has not played well at all. Very disappointing to say the least. I wonder if injuries are lingering.

Maybe the same for Sid. Not playing like the best player on the ice. The frustration is showing with him and Geno.

Last night it looked like Ottawa was the team with all the speed. Pens need to wake up quick. I don't see this team overcoming a 3-1 deficit.

This is the enigma that is the flower: brilliance to win games single handedly, and the ability to lose them in a moment too.
How many playoff series over the years were ended with a couple games like this?
Very tough coaching decision, with the Cup winning goalie sitting on the bench.

The frustrated Pens are back and it's not good. They are becoming more and more undisciplined and taking boo-hoo penalties. I am all for younger, fresher legs. Streit kinda disappointed me, but he is who he is. Last night was a tough game to be thrown into. The train was fast and furious, and our guys were in quicksand. These slow starts are not inspiring. They have to come out flying to match the intensity. You're in the ECF, how are you not up for this? No push back, no fire, no desperation. OTT skated at will and toyed with us. Was very embarrassing. A goal or two to end the first or even the 2nd period would have silenced the crowd. Giving up the 5th goal was salt in the wound. One goal a game is a death sentence and these injuries are killing this team. I don't like where this series is heading and I don't see a turn around from them. OTT has assembled a team that is capitalizing on the Pens strengths and weaknesses. I didn't think they were this good, but their D is keeping thE Pens' O in check. Who would have thought?

The Pens look uninspired at the moment. If their hearts are still in it, I expect a stronger push back and a tied series.

I'll give the offensive rushes credit. They created plays, just bad quality shots. The quality shots were just missed by inches. And gotta really give Andersen his props. The guy is seriously stopping anything his way

Sid and Sheary are not 100 percent. Honestly I bet 3/4 of this team isn't.

At this point it is what it is....Just a shame with all the talent on this team they probably wont repeat.

Chances like this don't come very often.

the two previous series probably took so much out of them. The injuries just will not stop. To a point, the Pens stayed the coarse as all three PO teams added and improved their teams. Those additions are making their impacts now. The Pens added Streit and Hainsey, which were decent pick-ups, but were necessities. They were not missing pieces to push the team over. This team is still talented and have gone very far considering everything they have gone through. I hope they don't get dumped in 5 games. That will be such a letdown.

I think the Washington series did a number on them. It was a hard, physical, and emotional series. As a fan I even felt beat. Considering the previous round against CBJ was pretty physical too. I'm not surprised at the on ice performance. The Pens are beat. It's easy to see that. They are going down fighting, but they are running on fumes right now. To get this far on a shortened off-season and battling injuries season long, I'm honestly ok going down in the ECF.

Proud of the boys if they lose. But just go down fighting

I really think we need a lineup jolt to make a difference. Archibald should go in

We're not getting any injured back

Pittsburgh Penguins ✔ @penguins
Sullivan on potential returns for Hornqvist and Rust: "We're hopeful. We'll see. They didn't skate with the team, so they are not probable."

Maybe Sully should try putting Phil, Geno, and Sid on the same line for a time or two. What's the worst that can happen?

Go big or go home.

I'm all for some youngins being called up. They've proven worthy throughout the course of a season. Captain Sid and company need some speed that's not so banged up.

-Wilson
-Rowney
-Kunhackle
-Ruhwedal
-Archibald

5 players who can make some noise. Wilson, Rowney and even Ruhwedal have shown some positives this series

I don't care who the call. Just play your *** off. These big shot stars need to step the **** up and have a big game.

Sullivan on Game 4's starting goalie: "Haven't given any consideration to that at this point." -SK

sure, right, whatever

fun facts: Pens are 8-1 in these playoffs when they score the first goal, 1-5 when they don't.

Just remember 99% of people thought they were done in the Wash series only to have a dominant game 7.
However OTT plays have a team and Anderson is playing out of his mind. I believe we can win this game, get healthier and eek out the series.

Series is still far from over. When the top lines start producing goals for their chances then this series will take a whole new direction. Andersen has been playing lights out, but he's had lucky bounces and the good ole' goal post help him out on several occasions.

Pens win tonight

Play it like a game 7. This team has way too much talent not to prevail. It's all in the mind. Set It and the body will follow

This is the same thing as not having a clear starting RB in FF. If you don't have a starting RB, you don't have a starting RB. The committee approach sucks.

While it has been awesome that Fleury has carried the Pens up until the past game, the real question is still: who is the Pens' starting goalie?

There is a shitload of emotion tied up in this coaching decision, at a very significant point in this series.

I would start Murray, because if the Pens lose, go down 3-1 then you give Flower the net for the rest of the playoffs.

If you start Fleury and the Pens lose, same thing in opposite and Fleury has played his last game.

If the Pens win the game, it doesn't matter who starts.

I think the coaches/players should have a good read on Fleury's headspace during the day, and it will probably be a gut call from the coach, influenced by input from vets like Sid and Kunitz.

This doesn't alter the fact that the main issue is lack of scoring that has nothing to do with goaltending.

We see that every game. It is called the power play. They struggle when they have the extra guy. Can only imagine 5V5. No thanks.

Bingo.

I feel confidant that if we win tonight, we will take the series......and vice versa. But I have been wrong frequently during these playoffs.

Preds/Ducks - Ducks blow a 2-0 lead late in the 3rd, tied with 30 sec left - then Preds lose in OT

Series tied 2-2 - we need this

The Ducks were in self-destruct mode for the last five minutes (or so) of period three. They just stepped off the bus. Lucky to have won.
