I agree, but they look for visible signs as well. That will be a hard one to reconcile for a team with this limited time frame. Really a bad situation all the way around.
 
I think this drops him but the $64,000 is how far? I am thinking definitely out of round one as no one is going to want this hanging over their top draft picks head. Round two I feel Ravens, Bengals, and Cowboys come into play. Round three seems more likely to open things up for him. If he falls further than that I would be surprised but not shocked.

for me he still goes 1. But I guess it will ultimately be with what they know as in what info they gather. And if it is not enough enfo out there, then sure I could see him slide out of 1.

Wonder if players set to be drafted early can get a pre-draft insurance policy if rumors/allegations (that turn out to be false) cause their stock to fall, thus costing them possibly millions. Doesn't Lloyds of London have policies like that for injuries incurred before the draft?
 
They have injury protection, but what would you call that, stupidity protection? Look, you are a potential top 15 pick four weeks before you become a millionaire, stay sober and keep your dick out of crazy.

get a hotel room in the middle of nowhere, set up cameras in it and pay some guy to bring you food and drink and even that dude isn't allowed in the room with you!
 
Not very often that a rape allegation includes witnesses who are having an orgy. This should be fairly open and shut.
 
NFL.com is reporting that several GMS are saying he will go undrafted. Take him in the 6 or 7. Even if he is a right off this year, if you feel there is a better than decent chance he is not guilty, you are getting first round talent in the 6th. You can't pass that up especially at a position of need.

GM's could be just flapping thinking they might get him in round 2 or 3...just throw out some bogus report.
 
Ohio State CB Conley calls allegations untrue

Ohio State CB Gareon Conley released a statement on Wednesday, calling the rape allegations against him "untrue, wrongful, and malicious."

"The allegations against me concerning the night of April 8/9 that have recently been reported in multiple media outlets are completely false," Conley said. "I did not commit a crime and have not been charged with a crime. I pride myself on doing things the right way on and off the field. The things being said about me and what happened that night are not true and don't fit my character at all. I realize that I put himself in the situation and I could have used better judgment. However, I have worked tirelessly to put myself in position to have the honor of being an NFL draft pick and these untrue allegations are putting a huge cloud over my name. These allegations appear to be an attempt to ruin this once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and my family. There were several witnesses including another female, who were present the entire time and have given statements that give an accurate account of what took place."

NFL needs to add another point to their pre-draft meetings with student athletes - Save the 'foursome with strangers' requests until after you get drafted.

Was there alcohol involved?
 
I am a risk/reward type guy. If my people doing the background check dug into the facts and feel reasonably certain he is innocent and he lasts until day 3, I take the guy. I mean, how many 4th/5th/6th rounders do we dump each year because they cannot play? If I think he has a better than 50% shot he is innocent (not guilty and gets off...because I cannot reward someone that rapes someone), then I take the guy.

I damn sure don't let him go undrafted because if he is never charged or the results exonerate him, you get a 1st for a 4th. I know that isn't the greatest PR move, but he slides a ring on his finger, he could call the girl back up for a 2nd round and people would forgive him. ****, everyone remembers Farve and the hot tub. Yet, he kept getting hired.
 
talking about risk/reward, if Sidney Jones is there at the end of the 2nd and we got an OLB in the 1st it will be hard to pass him up now that it's known that his surgery went well. (especially if the likes of Tankersley, King, Jackson, Awuzie, White, Wilson are already gone)
