This would almost be as bad as taking a punter in the 4th round.

I would literally boycott the season if they WASTED their first round pick on a player destined to be a 2-3 year back up player. He will contributed NOTHING to Ben's final years.
I want one of the top 3 tight ends.

A year or two behind Ben would do him good and give him the chance to pick up the stuff that the NFL needs QBs to do differently.
Hasnt woked out that way for Landry Jones. Just saying.
What about the Peterman guy from Pitt ?
Solid pick in the 3rd round. I like the upside.
Yes, he is a diva BUT he has some nice physical skills. Here is the issue: Name QBs that were better in the NFL than they were in college.
NO WAY.
The guy lacks a fast ball, and threw 15 interceptions in his last 23 starts. While he can run some, he's not going to be a huge running threat in the NFL with his 4.83 speed. Pretty much every LB is faster than that. I think our very own rudy undersized rookie LB last year ran a 4.82, and he's on the slower side.
TMC - Not saying Steelers should or should not draft him at any particular spot, but what does our resident draft guru see when looking at his tape?
I'll also add this, per the radar gun, Kizer threw 52 MPH. Guys with guns throw 60 MPH. In the mid-50s is comfortable but guys in the league range from 50-60. This highest this year was Davis Webb at 56. Several were at 55. Trubisky was at 51. Watson was at 45. Last draft, 56 MPH was tied for 4th and 55 MPH was tied for 8th. Connor Cook was the only guy below 52 last year and he clocked in at 50. All these were done at the combine.
I believe Ben was clocked at 93 MPH at the combine that year.Just to us some insight to compare against current NFL QB's... where does Ben (and other current NFL QB's) fit in MPH? Cutler? Luck? Newton? Stafford? Flacco? Rodgers?

Also, I have read in a few places that Mahomes has a Rodgers-like arm? Your thoughts?
