Per Bell

They said it would have been a late pick but the repeat offense made it a 3rd i believe. I doubt the steelers would get hit that hard unless the NFL thinkks the whole Bell going to see his baby thing was some kind of cover up. I can see it being a 7th rounder.

You also have to consider that the steelers are hoping for Martavis back so they may be more willing to go along with a punishment to curry favor for Martavis.

Makes sense. Just getting tired of the Steelers "going along" with punishments for infractions that are iffy at best. I mean, going back to the whole Ben suspension it seems like the league imposes punishments on the Steelers in some cases just to be able to say "see, we even punish respected teams like the Steelers". (Note, I do not include Bell and Bryant's suspensions in the "iffy" infractions category).

This team has no replacement for Ben. Guys like him are not a dime a dozen. If you look at all of the quarterbacks the Steelers have had since Bradshaw up until Ben you'll see this to be absolutely true. The window to get another championship is now!

I was gonna say, it only took 21 years to get another decent QB. Except for Bubby, who wasn't used properly.

If you had to play a game with Ben and no Bell, or with Bell and no Ben which do you pick?

Looking at the past couple of seasons, you answered your own question. It's obvious you take Ben and no Bell every single time. Every team in the NFL would take a franchise QB over a RB if they had to choose.

Exactly, I just posed that question because someone said Bell was the biggest asset on offense

Art Rooney said he doesn't expect any punishment. There is no more probable list which is what Bell would've been on.

I believe the root cause of the issue was that Bell didn't report the injury?

Correct?

If true...why would the Steeler's be punished?

Guys trying to "man up"...usually does not end well..

Like I said, he broke team rushing records each of the previous two weeks so obviously he didn't think he was hurt that much.

It's as simple as this. If Tomlin cannot figure out how to use Bell and save him and or they can't stop losing stupid games in September/October then franchise him get what you can out of him next season and goodbye. That is three years it ended with a serious injury.

You'll remember that after Willie Parker had "his wheels run off" he was out of the league within a couple years.

I'm just sayin'...

IMHO...the reason Tomlin "used" him that hard at the end of the season...Is that he saw what we all were seeing...The passing game without another weapon besides number 84, was in disarray...

Utilizing Bell to the degree that he was used, was our best hope of scoring more than 20 a game..

This, and he started the game. They did away with the probable tag which he would have been at worst. It's garbage.

Tomlin just runs his runningbacks dry. Willie took a beating, Bell is taking a beating. Absolutely need more offensive weopons. Helps Ben out as well

Honestly MTC I believe it is a big part of the fact that they lose their stupid games early to ****** opponents. If you look at the last three years they were in lose and done for at least the last 1/3 of the schedule. With no cushion it becomes difficult to spread the ball around. The seeds of this teams demise were long before the AFC championship game.

I agree. But I also think the team grew on the run towards the end. Early in Ben's career, the playcalling was balanced. Bettis and Parker got the ball often, but not to a point to where they were broken down. I'm being optimistic in that the OLine has improved, the weopons are there. Now it really is up to Tomlin to utilize the roster. The team has had slow starts dating back to 2013 when they lost what the first 4? If the team can win early and often and not having to place a load on Bell, Brown and Ben. Then the Steelers have a high chance. As a fan, I'll give Tomlin one more year. It's SB or bust. Anything short. Changes need to come

2 time drug loser, injury prone, social media *****, wanna be rapper hanging with snoop prima dona.......yea, real smart to give him a huge contract....:rolleyes1:

lol.........wow, right to the race card. classic

Is Snoop Lion/Doggy Dog anything other than black??? Most rappers are (_fill in the !@#$ blank__)

Your trival BS is tiring. Bell is BY FAR - the best back in the league - yes, let's let him walk...as I said, "munch your arse out of here"...

Bell's comment may cost the steelers a draft pick. Based on his comments, the steelers knew he was injured and he wasn't on injured report vs Pats. They just took a pick fromSeattle for the same thing with Sherman.

That's on Tomlin is they lose a pick.
Football players get injuries and play. Severely injured players don't. If Bell was severely injured he shouldn't have played and that's on the trainers and Tomlin.

I don't think he was severely injured. Bell had pretty big games against the Dolphins and Chefs. I think he just tweaked it worse against the pats
