My son just sent me this. The one I brainwashed from little on to be a Steelers nut. Harder to do when you live in Vancouver. Now he sends me the articles. A tear almost rolled down my cheek, cause I know when he spurts out that little grandchild one day in the DISTANT future he or she will dam well be a Steelers nut too! Great read!

That got the hair on the back of my neck standing up. I'm so glad Cameron Heyward is a Steeler. Can't wait for Sunday!

Always enjoy reading the players tribune. You get an insight of the players mind. Loved it. Cam Heyward, Pascal Dupuis and Matt Cullen have all done these pieces. Thanks for posting SF81

Let's ******* GOooooool!!! Is it to early to start drinking for Sunday. **** the weekend, I want Sunday.

Great story! If that doesn't get you pumped up for this post season, nothing will.

It's the truth, Cam was born to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. Awesome player and person.

Cam is an excellent writer. I hope to read more from him!

Let's get this done!

Now that's the kind of **** that reminds me of why I love the Steelers regardless of how ****** up the NFL is today.

Wow...just wow!
Cam's mother is from Highland Park/East Liberty neighborhood of Pittsburgh where I grew up...His Mom went to Peabody High School, the HS I graduated from, what is now called Obama Academy. But that's not why I posted...and not really important..

I posted in hopes that this fantastic personal letter, from a member of the greatest NFL franchise ever, goes to show the extreme value that our Head Coach brings to this team.

It is obvious that he is the right man for the job..
There is no greater trait a leader can have than the one the Cam and other Steelers have recently convened in defense of their LEADER, and the man that this team would run through a brick wall for.

We Do NOT Seek Comfort...

Great read, Cam... Loved it!

This gives me even more hope going into this weekend and the rest of the playoffs that maybe this team has an "it" factor to it that we all missed back in November. Let's go!

Cam is a perfect guy to carry on the Steeler DE legacy of Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel. You can tell he took everything they told him to heart and models his game after them. He embodies the exact characteristics that they did in their careers. The word "Workmanlike" comes to mind. Just guys who are/were tough as nails and are perfectly happy doing any dirty, grubby job in the trenches to make the team better even if it means you won't get the notice or accolades. Team first guys one and all.

I've told this story before, but my daughter who is now 17, was 11 at the time. Anyone that has been to draft day knows up in the east club lounge they have a bunch of bouncy house type things for kids. I think that was the 2nd year they did the Thursday draft thing, and draft day was on Saturday. Heyward was picked Thursday and was there Saturday and was coming through there to do an interview with DVR, he's walking by one of the slides and who comes out and almost takes him out, none other than my daughter, almost got him right in the side of the knee, he just shuffled around her and smiled, lol.

Not sure what it is with her, but when she was 9 months old we had her at an autograph signing at the GC outlet's, Porter and Gildon were at a table together, got Porter to sign her at and are waiting to get to Gildon, she's to little to walk, so I had her sitting on the table, before I know it she's crawls across the table and takes one of Porters cookies he had on a plate, he and Gildon both cracked up and Gildon gave her one too.
