Game Notes

I'll say this the officiating in this game was atrocious. Yeah we won but you'll never convince me the officials aren't told by the NFL to be lenient on the team that is behind when it comes to penalties. James Harrison was getting mugged by the Giants LT the whole game....every play they could have called holding. That same LT was also blatantly holding Timmons when Jennings took the screen pass for the TD and it was right in front of one of the officials....no way he could have missed it. Flowers had a stranglehold on Timmons. Also they called Pass Interference on Cockrell on a throw to OBJ but the ball wasn't catch-able and Cockrell didn't even lay a hand on OBJ.

I swear to god this NFL game that we know and love is a complete joke! Almost makes me not even want to watch football.
I agree w/ everything but the last sentence...

Burns had a very good game as did Davis. I don't think any Steeler fan can complain about these 2 anymore.( I know someone will mention Davis should have batted the ball down instead of catching it,)
It will be a tough choice for rookie of year.

it kinda sucks that Harrison is still our best pass rusher.

It is hard to complain about Bell, but I do think he is sometimes to patient. He should pick a whole and run sometimes.

Green is turning out to be a great asset and I will admit I was very harsh on him earlier in the year as far as his desire to play

the running defense is noticeably worse with Hardgrave out. a 3rd rookie that has had a impact. very good draft this year

Not getting the Antonio criticism.. The guy is out there grinding and producing despite double teams.

The other stuff is minor in the grand scheme.

The "other stuff" matters. Post TD celebrations put the D in a bad spot. The giants today got a free 5 yards because AB couldn't find the urgency to run/jog that AT MOST 53 yards in 40 SECONDS. That is not minor. That is BS effort from a professional player who is supposed to be a leader.

Too many penalties. That is my only gripe. Too many stupid penalties.

I certainly agree. In every game, so many damn penalties. They seem to call everything little thing, but let some obvious ones go. Frustrating!

The NFL is bullshit. It's not a legit sport anymore. It's entertainment much like the WWE is . People know it's bullshit, but still pack them in.

Great win vs a good team, penalties need to quit and drops were big early on.

The defense made plays, but I'm just worried about them letting teams drive down to the Goal line so much recently, yes we stopped them from scoring, but we can't keep doing that consistently

on timmons pick when I saw the play starting I was like "Why the **** they keep dropping timmons in coverage? He'll get burned Again!" and then he makes that Amazing int and shuts me the **** up, which obviously makes me more than happy.

Let me say it for the first time, I want Timmons signed for a couple more years on a win/win deal for both sides, he should retire a Steeler.

Timmons had a big game, but he's still really slowing down, I think we may be a little more stout with Williams in there

and whoever comes saying that is a dumbfuck, what if he tried that and the ball goes to a giants player? then he'd be crucified here. He did the right thing

The Giants are a very good team and this is one of the more impressive wins this team has this year. The defense is picking its game up and made some outstanding plays in tough spots. But as you mentioned, the penalties are big. With AB and a bunch of UDFAs playing receiver, the offense doesn't have the ability to bounce back from all of these penalties. The special teams needs to quit putting them in bad field position with these penalties as well.

I wanted to add Mike Mitchell to the game notes. The guy has been playing very well lately and once again had a very good game.

Oh great couple weeks for him!!! I hope hargrave is back this weekend, that 2DL set is very soft, especially up the middle

yeah he played very well, but he almost get a flag for hitting #45 after the play. He slammed his *** pretty bad, totally unnecessary

Too many costly penalties. Will be the difference against a team like NE if we are playing them close.

Green was ok but looked like he was going to fall down all by himself sometimes.

Pass rush was decent. We got some holding calls. Harrison remains a beast. Nobody can deal with him.

O-line is very good.

Ben was great in spite of WRs not getting separation.

Bell is a stud. We should have pulled him for those last series.

The special teams averaging 1 penalty per play BS needs to be addressed too.

Where the **** is Bobby Love when you need him.........................
Where the **** is Bobby April when you need him.........................

Salute the nation

Ladarius Green had some great plays, the one I liked the most was the 3rd down catch in the middle of the field, he held the ball despite getting trucked just as the ball got there.

He and Ben are getting a groove that will be very dangerous for opposing teams

I'm not a fan of his antics and wish he'd play cleaner and you're right, it was unnecessary, yet it puts guys on notice. What I was impressed with were his pass defenses against OBJ.

If Williams was available, you give Bell a break. After watching this team blow leads, I don't want the game in the hands of Fitzgerald Toussaint.

yes, just as I was hoping for him to play before the season. Don't know why it took him so long to be at the top of his game

Eh, it was iffy. It was a clean hit, he put his shoulders right in his chest. Didn't hit him the head or even aim at his head. I mean had the guy gone for the ball and caught it and Mitchell bails on it, then were all bitching about him not doing it. On that play, there was almost no way for him to know that that player wasn't going to be going for the football. He was in blow-him-the-****-up mode as the ball was approaching him.

The problem is, that with the concussion thing going on, the days of blowing players up is over. If he wraps the guy up as he hits him, the flag is never thrown. They don't want players just blowing guys up, especially receivers.
