On NFL Network main show.

I don't know what the topic was, because I clicked on it midstream, but Heath Evan (yea, the guy who JUST benched 225 36 times, more than anyone at the combine save for one huge lineman) said,

"When I collided with Levon Kirkland, I lost two inches on my height. After that hit, I thought, 'I better play something besides fullback.' He was huge, and, wow, what a hit."

I saw that. Why they showed Kirkland in seahag gear I have no idea.

I assumed he was talking about a hit from 99 when he played the Steelers.

It turns out they were in Seattle together, Evan's rookie year. So, he obviously was referring to practice while in Seattle. I knew Levon went somewhere else a few years, but didn't commit it to memory.

He played one year in Seattle and in one year in Philly after Pgh. It was still a funny story. Levon was pushing 300 lbs by that point. Even a dude as big and as strong as Evans didn't like the taste of
running into 99.

It's a shame he couldn't or didn't want to keep the weight off. His '97 year may have been as good as any ILB has had. Then he signed the big deal and ballooned.

OP loves him some Heath Evans

I remember my first crush, it was a female.

But yeah good times......

POP loves him some Heath Evans. Anywho Levon was a beast back in the day. The dude ran like the wind at his size. I remember him somewhat

Kirkland was solid...... as a run defender and dropping in coverage surprisingly. A inside LBer at that size that could do what he could do was nothing short of amazing...

Levon once made an interception deep in steeler territory around the 10yrd line. He ran it back all the way to about their eight. He stepped out of bounds rather than go head to head with the opposing QB. Levon was gassed. Our Offense came in and scored then they kicked extra point. GUESS who the holder was..........Levon Kirkland....... How cool was that. When Cohwer was asked, all he said was it was Levon who got us there. AWESOME

Can anyone confirm this? I can't believe they would have him come in to hold.

PS. Does the original poster have any of these kinds of stories of the CHEATRIOTS, OF COARSE I'D LIKE TO HEAR THE NON-CHEATING ONES..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................Crickets

Considering he has 51 career interception return yards, I'm finding the story already impossible to believe. Unless it was preseason.

That is true. And he hit like a tank. Out of the 90's era. Lloyd, Greene, Woodson, and Dawson stand out the most....and Kordell. But when you go back and watch old clips. Kirkland was damn near badass

its amazing that Heath Evans can do what he does with POP swinging from his nuts.

For the life of me, I can't Remeber if pre season or regular. I think it was preseason. Couldn't believe he didn't take on the QB but he was gased , bad. I didn't see the actual "hold", but the announcers and post game Cowher both commented on it. That part I do Remember.

I wish we could bring back prime Kirkland

Look at the content of the original post......now consider if your reaction makes a lick of ******* logic or reason.

You apparently have a mental disorder. If you drink that rot gut iron City, made from badly polluted water, it might explain a lot.

This post was about a guy who ran into Kirkland and paid for it, to the point of making him question even playing FB in the NFL. And you turned it into more Pats whining.

Some Steeler fans are a step away from acting and thinking like Browns' fans.

He was really unique before he ate himself out of being effective. Do you think he was approaching 300 lbs his last season in Pgh?

Uncle Chip brought me a nice oil can sized Iron City - I loved it!

Do you prefer Sam Adams, POP???

IC blows. It's is awful. I bought a case for the Super Bowl, and that case hung around for years. Every time we got down to nothing in the fridge but IC, we would go buy other beer instead of drinking that. It ended up in my girl's fridge at one point and I think we threw the remaining beers away when she moved. It is that horrid.

Sam Adams is overrated. Gimme a nice cold bottle of Miller Lite and I am happy. Mic Lite works too. Hiney Lite too.

Saw that too. Thought it was great. kirkland was one of the most underrated Steelers LBs all time. At his best he was damn near unblockable. Problem is someone that big and quick for his size is very susceptible to joint and muscle injuries. He was an absolute beast in his best years and badly deserved a SB with this team.

I'm sure you tried to use the remaining IC's to rub all over Heath Evans chest. Damn cheats.

Speaking of IC's I need to try a Primanti's washed down with IC combo

I bet. All that weight carried around at his size. Damn. Seeing him go after Aikman in that one super bowl I don't like
