a bit concerned

I think we all agreed that once dismantled the Broncos were no longer a threat. We all also agreed that the Patriots would be our major obstacle upon getting back to the super bowl. I keep reading about trades the Patriots are making to sure up the team. Along with players they are also stocking draft picks. Not to mention they are also very active in free agency and adding players to replace those who have retired or left. I'm pretty concerned that they are getting better and we are happy with status quo. A week ago everyone tagged us the best offense in football. Now we have dropped and that pats have leaped over us. I know how dangerous we are if everyone stays healthy but we haven't for a few years. So I'm concerned that the Patriots have now become the favorite in the AFC and rightfully so. Thoughts?
 
Pats traded Chandler Jones for a bust of an OL
they then signed Chris Long and his injury problems
They lost Jerod Mayo to retirement
They traded for Martellus Bennett

they still don't have any WR other than Edelman.
Their defense isnt any better
Their running game is a mess, as their best RB is a free agent

they've pretty much remained status quo despite all their moves.
 
Patriots are still weak at WR even with Chris Hogan because I feel Hogan is just a cheaper version of Amondola who they will cut or have take a huge pay cut. They do have a very tough tandem at TE now with the addition of Bennett but they also have an injury prone TE in Gronk and a bat **** crazy TE in Bennett. They lose their best defensive player in Jones but did ad a nice OL piece. And on top of everything Tom Brady is still facing his suspension. I don't know if he will or won't be suspended but if he is and the ruling is held up at the end of the year they could go into the playoffs without Brady. Also, Brady will be 39 when the season starts.

Right now I am most worried about the Raiders and Chiefs in the AFC. Those two teams could make some noise if the Raiders secondary can do anything and if they take Elliot their offense will be tough. And the Chiefs still have a tough D even without Smith and if they get a few offensive pieces back they could be a tough team come January.
 
I think before you worry about other ******* teams you better hope like hell Bell can return, Ben can stay healthy and we have more than one starting WR.

I agree with you, that's why I said we have a hard time staying healthy. As far as the other two replies, your making this analysis of the team that made it to the AFC championship game. Imo, never count Brady out and with the addition of the TE and OL he will only be better. Remember this is a pass and points first league now. I stand by my point.
 
Who is favored means nothing. I only worry about this football team and how they can improve. So far so good with keeping our own a
And adding a couple new players. Don't see losing Spence, McClendon or even Beachum a great loss. The biggest worry for me is the loss of Bryant and his production. Coates must pick that up or we have problems. Defensively we must get better. We have to add safety, CB, defensive line help. We also need depth on def. line. Oh, and must stay healthy.
 
The Cheaters signed names...that's all. Chris Long hasn't been that productive the last couple of years and is injury prone. Bennet only played 11 games last year, had 53 recs for 439 yds, fumbled twice and caught 3 TDs. Not a "OMG" he is coming to town kind of guy. In contrast Ladarius Green caught 37 balls for 429 yds and 4 TDs in limited action (5 games). There is much more up side in our locker room.

Don't believe the media hype over their darlings. Even without Bryant, which does hurt, we will still stretch the field and open the run game. Once, or maybe if, we shore up our defensive backfield we should be a very tough team to beat at home or on the road.

I still very much like our chances to run the table next year.

I actually think Houston, IF they found a quarterback could be a very dangerous team. They added Oswiler at quarterback and Lamar Miller at running back . Houston's offense ranked 22nd last season, and put their D in bad positons. They could be an 11-5 type of team in 2016.

New England I think bettered themselves in a trade.

They also got a a good guard in Cooper. I have a hunch Chris Long will be better on New England. Most players are.
 
Cooper being a "good guard" is a stretch. There's a reason the Pats still got a 2nd rounder in return along with Cooper. Just because he was a former 1st round pick, doesn't make him "good". Just ask uncle jarvis.
 
if the P**ts add Antwon Blake, that will make them unbeatable.

The Pats will need more than a guard to fix that OL and keep Brady standing. He's not 29 either.....he's 39. Unfortunately, they sit in a powderpuff division and are guaranteed a first round bye and a home playoff game against a lower seed to get to the AFCG.
 
Br*dy is another year older as well. He can't keep going on his pace forever. Behind a suspect offensive line, he may not even hold up
 
Well I still think they have upgraded more than we have and they have stockpiled draft picks along with it. It just seems it doesn't matter how bad someone plays wherever they come from, they always play better in New England. All im pointing out is they will be a formatable opponent and like someone else said, they play in a powder puff division and It guarantees them a first round bye and a home game. While we play I'm the toughest division in football and every division game is cutthroat and players get injured, some for the rest of the year.
 
Also to add or more thing. Forget new England or Houston or Cincinnati. We have lost more players than we have added and in years past, when that has happened it didn't turn out well.

- Jerod Mayo wasn't even a starter last season.
- Chris Long has proven to be top-level player before. A one-year flier for cheap with the possibility that he stays healthy is a great move.
- Bennett is a solid starter that's one of the better blocking TEs in the league. As a #2 in that offense? Look out.
 
We can upgrade over 2015 by just having a healthy Bell and Pouncey back.

Not sure there will be much difference between Coates and Bryant production and Green could actually
end up an upgrade on Heath if he does some damage with his speed.
 
I always feel you can't sleep on the Pats; how many seasons do they prove they will be a contender every year?

That being said, the Jones move was classic Belichick/Pats: They always keep an eye on the future and they obviously figured Jones was gonna want too much $ for their liking after this season, so move him now and get something out of him (Cooper and 2nd rounder) instead of just letting him walk next year. They do this all the time, and it is smart. It is one reason why they DO contend every single year for the past 15 years. As for their other moves, well, they will always be active, but for the first time in a while, they don't scare me as much. I think we could likely be stronger overall in 2016.

The East is any more "powder puffed" than the North?

Last I checked both Bills and Jets were decent teams capable of winning half their games at least. Meanwhile, half of the north are bottom of the barrel teams in Cleveland and Balt.

But the East is the powder puffed division?

Take div. winner Pats out of results and the East had 24 wins.

Take div winner Cinci out of results, and the North had 18 wins.

Who you calling powder puffed?

So POP has something to do with Patriots. I'm guessing, Proud of Patriots. POP do you have a Brady poster on your bedroom ceiling? Maybe a Belicheat in his hoodie on the wall?
