IMO, all around classy guy and best QB I've ever seen play and manage his offense. All the best, Mr. Manning - FREE Papa John's for EVERYBODY for a week???
 
He drug it out this long to force Denver's hand. Payton was due a guaranteed 16 million on Tuesday. I would bet my house he and his agent were fishing for somewhere else to play, thus making Denver either pay him or cut him so he would be free to sign somewhere else. If this is the case not a real classy move as far as I am concerned.

about time, glad wont have to hear his stupid audibles ice cream 654 alert, there is whole damn list of weird *** calls under just snap the damn ball, the only thing some would consider en calling weird if weird is when he goes to a hot route where there is a big mismatch he yells lefty

It's tough when the greats retire, but he had a heck of a career. I don't think he was the best ever, but has to be top 5. That is pretty great and he has many records to boot. To go out with a second ring. Couldn't have scripted it any better for him. Good riddance(j/k). The Steelers' D can rest a tad easier tonight. :)
 
One of the greater QBs in R-E-G-U-L-A-R season play that's for sure. POST SEASON------Not so sure.

Manning is definitely one of the all-time great players and I'm glad I've had the chance to watch him play in person. No doubt he'll have a successful post-playing career and I wish him the best in retirement.

My all time favorite non Steeler. Heck of a career and based on his marketability he'll have a lot of work lined up for years to come.

I think our society had more to do with it. That and the ridiculous amount of money at stake. Probably even more than both of those was the threat of CTE lawsuits that started cropping up. That is the exact time when things suddenly changed. Aka the James Harrison witch hunt season, as I will always refer to it.
