Here are some of mine... Some new some ive been bitchn about for a while....

1. Any penalty called can be challenged... Its dumb to allow phantom calls to decide the game. Missed calls are one thing, but incorrect calls in this day and age are inexcusable... Nothing is worse than a wrongful pi call or a hold that wipes out a huge gain and isnt real...

2. Increase rosters to 65.. Have a dedicated backup active at every position for safety and tge good of the game. Increase practice squds to 22 if you dont start a minor league... Development is more important now than ever cause college ball is crap now.

3. Eliminate the spot foul for defensive pi... Or make offensive pi more of a penalty... The disparage between the two is absurd.

4.on a two point or xp attempt,if a team intercepts the ball, recovers a fumble, or blocks the kick and recovers, let them have the option to forgo the kickoff and take the ball wher they have it. It eliminates the scenerio where a team scores, turns the ball over on the attempt, then gets to take a shot at the onsides to regain posession... It just adds risk to the play..

5. Install an auto ejection for a second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for one player in the same game

6. Let any 1 player lined up at least five yards behind the qb be allowed to move toward the line before the snap... I liked this in other leagues... It really stresses the d but in a good way

#and my favorite.... 5 yard penalty for crying to a ref for a penalty

These will never happen, but I want to bring back the return game and make it a much bigger part of the game:

Kickoffs must be kicked into the field of play (10 yard penalty and re-kick for anything that goes OOB or through the end zone). Downing the ball in the end zone brings it out to the 1 yard line.

Punts must be kicked into the field of play (same penalty as kickoffs above) and no fair catch, only a 3 yard halo around the returner.

I mostly want them to simplify the rule book. Also, if you are going to have replay and waste 2 minutes of everyone's time watching slow-motion replays, then use it to get the play right --- lower the standard from "absolutely conclusive" to "I'm pretty sure xyz happened". I feel most of the refs rely too much on "the play stands" because it's the safe thing to do. But the human eye is no match for slow-motion replay so there is no reason to default to the original call unless the replay is just not clear.

Also, penalize the refs for having a quick whistle...Shazier should have scored a TD vs. the Bengals and the Pats should have scored one against the Broncos if not for quick whistles.

Many to list.

For openers, move kickoffs back 5 yards. Kickoffs are a good part of the game. Now they suck. Who wants to watch touchbacks?

Allow all 53 players to dress for games. Why not? They way it is, teams are thin on the lines.

Any play can be red flagged except for one when the whistle blew it dead.

Put in a rule that says if you take someone out ( Injury ) with a late hit on the head or the knee, you will be suspended for as long as the player is out, with a maximum amount being three games.
I'll define a late as being over 1 second.

Re-start NFL Europe and fund football programs in Europe. The NBA greatly benefits from international talent.

Allow players to wear 00

Like #4. Also accounts for a long non-TD return of an interception.

5 is obviously needed. I also think there should be some sort of cumulative effect. Maybe 4 in a season earns a suspension. Something like that.

More ejections in general are needed in the sport.

#2 is a bad idea because basically you'd be adding 12 extra roster spots and something like 8-10 of them would be linemen. There's already a massive shortage as is. Anyone who can play at all is already on a roster. Teams could hoard linemen too easily.

There is only a shortage because colleges quit teaching technique for blocking... Its all quick interference... That is why there has to be more roster spots.. Everyone has to be taught pro style now... You have to have a guy ready to go. There is far more pure talent in the game now than any time in the past, but there is less knowledge and ability because colleges went all gimmicky

Madinsomniac, you are agreeing with Belicheat on number one! I actually agree, too but keep the same number of challenges the same.

My only other change would be that QB's must wear skirts and Marsha's must be pink.

Any personal foul, that player is removed from the field for a play. 2 personal fouls, and that player is ejected.

College OT rules but the NFL will start possession at the 35. Must go for 2 after any TD.

Any blind throw by a QB to avoid a sack is an intentional grounding call.

All uninjured players are active on game day.

GET RID OF THE THROW AWAY RULE

This is the WORST RULE IN ALL OF PROFESSIONAL SPORTS. It is legalized cheating. If the defense has done their job, they've rushed well and defended on the back end, they have EARNED their sack. They have EARNED their interception. Robbing defenses of their victories in this way make the NFL more into WWE style "sports entertainment" than a genuine athletic contest. The 5 yard chuck rule is similar in terms of tarnishing the spirit of fairness, but not nearly as bad.

Imagine the PGA gave every player a one stroke mulligan on every hole. Records would fall like crazy, but would you respect them? This is passing in today's NFL. Allowing QBs to cheat has tarnished the integrity of the sport, and no one has benefited more than stumble footed QBs like Tom Brady.

"But we have to protect QBs! It's about economics!" Ok. Let them ground the ball to avoid the hit, but MARK THE BALL AT THAT SPOT, not the original line of scrimmage. That would be fair, but of course QBs wouldn't do it because then they'd just look like giant *******. Well guess what Tom, we see you. And you look like a giant ***** already.

Eliminating the cut block as an acceptable form of blocking, should be a personal foul instead.

Roster expanded to 55 with all non IR players eligible to play in game.

2 IR designations a short term 6 week list and a long term list for season, allow 2 returns from long term list as long as 8 games have passed.

Some sort of suspension relating to accumulation of personal fouls over the season. Something like 2 in same game resulting in ejection, 4 total =1 game suspension, 6=2 games, 8=4 games, 10 rest of season or 8 games whichever longer.

Any other changes would be to simplify the rule book. Only changes I'm looking for right now are for player safety, if the game is not me more safe it may be gone in the future.

Just cause bb cheats doesnt mean he isnt smart.... The guy was a top 5 DC all time in this league before he resorted to lifting playbooks and bugging lockerrooms

1) Anytime an on-the-field player is able to identify Bill Belichick on the sideline and hit him from the field of play within 3 steps, it is legal to do so.

2) If a QB throws a football into Bill Belichick's face at a velocity exceeding 40 mph, that team shall be awarded a 1st down.

3) If Bill Belichick is rendered unconscious or if a concussion is detected from the events of rule #2 the responsible team shall be awarded a Safety.

4) Anytime Robert Kraft is near a professional football field of play, ANY player from ANY team who manages to make excessive contact with him is immediately awarded a contract extension from the team of their choice.

5) If the result of rule #5 is a concussion or unconsciousness on Robert Kraft's part, the responsible player is immediately eligible for the Franchise tag and a salary equal to the top 5 paid players at his respective position.

I think that would go a long way toward fixing Football.

Lol how about the superbowl winners all get one free shot at the commish...

1. No grounding 15 yrd penalty.
2. Ejection after 2nd personal foul
3. If you hurt someone on illegal hit you dont play till they do.
4. Bring back the kick off.
5. College OT rules
6. PI reviewable
7. If you catch the ball in bounds it should not matter if the ball comes loose when you hit OB.

QB throwing the ball down or on the field somewhere and no player within ten yards. Defense need to cut a break for making a good play.

Have to do something about the pass interference infraction..

One long desperation pass can change the entire outcome of a game...

Way to easy to influence the final result...and allow a less talented team, or a team that was outplayed, to either get back in a game, or even win the game..

Can I have another?

I would change the distance an on sides kick has to travel to 5 yards..

CUT BLOCKING: I agree, should be banned.

OFFENSIVE PASS INTERFERENCE: If defensive PI is a spot foul, offensive PI should be a loss of down penalty.

FIVE YARD CHUCK: Abolish it. Allow defenders to push receivers, allow receivers to push off. Fight for the ball, whoever gets it, gets it.

ABOLISH "HALF THE DISTANCE" PENALTIES
: Put the ball on the goal line. A penalty against a defense inside their own 1 is an automatic 1st, against an offense is a safety. No more silly 1 yard penalties.

ABOLISH "FORWARD PROGRESS"
: If the defense takes yards from a runner, they earned those yards. Go down, son. Just go down.

The other thing that sucks is the automatic first down for a ticky-tack defensive penalty. The offense doesn't deserve a first down if it's 3rd and 22 and a DB makes a tiny amount of contact with a receiver.

Get rid of the taunting penalty. They're professionals, they can take verbal abuse, and someone pointing at them.

Get rid of the celebration rules. **** going to the ground. I understand using props or touching the goal post, but using the ball as a prop is bullshit. Let them have fun, let them celebrate, set it to 20sec, if they go over, it's a delay of game. Easy Peezy.

When a ball meets the foot of a kicker, either in the kicking or punting game, possession is forfeit for the kicking team. This will stop the awarding the kicking team a first down, after their kick is blocked and a blocking penalty happens on the run back.
