I work for a bathroom remodeling company in Cincinnati. Today I had a sales appointment in Loveland which is an upscale community. I was meeting with the wife only as she said her husband was not available. 5 minutes in after looking at a bathroom the size of my Bedroom she rudely determined we were not trendy enough for her and she did not care about warranty or quality only that it is the latest trend. Very Very egotistical trophy wife type who has never worked a day in her life.
As I am walking out she mentions her husband is from Pittsburgh, I ask if he is a Steeler fan. She goes red and yells I ******* HATE THE STEELERS! i was like wow. I told her I was from Pittsburgh she replies my husband is a Bengals coach. Knowing I was not making the sale I said you better not look at the back of my car then jokingly. SHe goes ape **** and say if I had known you were a Steeler fan I would have not let you in the house and would never do business with you. I really wanted to say We DEY *****! as I left but figured it my get back to our Owner. I am assuming the money grubbing ***** is still pissed that her hubby lost out on another playoff check and bonus to spend redoing her ridiculous mansion. Man she was a stuck up *****. I rarely dislike people but she was a piece of work.

Her husband is the defensive line coach Jay Hayes.
 
You should have said. Damn. I'm sorry, you sure you want to do this remodel given his *** is going to get fired.
 
Like I said... the hate in that city is neither rational nor something to be trifled with... this isn't harmless Cleveland banter... this isn't ravens dislike because we were both built the same... this is Psyco-stab-you-in-the-eye-while-creaming-who-dey-now kind of nutty hate.... They only reported in stadium violence after the game... nothing out of the stadium, and I hear there was plenty.... that city is going to riot from frustration next playoff loss... or total collapse... whichever comes first... now that the reds are in ful rebuild mode its not going to get better either
 
His brother Jonathan Hayes played for the STEELERS and coaches tight ends at Cincy too. Both have been there with Marvin from the beginning.

Oh, and the other brother Jay was FIRED by Cowher as our Special Teams coach!

No wonder they hate us!

Now that makes sense. I guess NFL assistants make pretty good money. House was huge and nice but way to cold and impersonal for me.
 
I run into similar types of people in my business. New money and trophy wives are often huge pains in the ***. If I get too many red flags or if they are rude to me, the owner, then I just say "I don't think we're the company for you, have a nice day" and walk out. Of course sometimes they stop me if they are aware that we are about the only legit local company that does what we do. Several years ago when he was still playing we did some work on Ty Law's off-season house, his mama lives there full-time, and she's very nice. I have another regular customer who is a former NFL player (not a Steeler) and coach, wife #2 started out being kind of a pain in the *** but she's mellowed after getting to know us.

BTW, your story sounds like the beginning of a porn flick. Plumber fixes something at the house, but the wife has no money to pay.....

It's probably not a good idea to name names? Maybe for your personal job security anyways.
 
I would have showed her my Steelers tat, and replied. "we dey *****, 25 years of playoff futility lol" walking out the door.

So they weren't going to need that bathroom anyhow, or maybe that was a distraction for the wife while he bailed to Tampa with a less bitchy version....?
 
I think that all the Bengal Coaches are abandoning ship the first chance they get so they can escape the CLASSLESS organization LOL
