Where's all my Tomin haters who were talking all that "5 years w/o playoff win" ****

No, sir. Franco caught it then outran the defense. The Steelers created their own fortune here.

It's not like a late 4 quarter fumble with the lead, then two back to back personal fouls that put us in range for the winning kick. That is what I call a given game thanks to the Cincinattini Bengals stupidity.

Absurd. Franco catching a fluke deflection is creating fortune, but Shazier forcing a fumble by ripping the ball out is dumb luck. There are no words to describe how dumb your argument is here.

Re-read it again. I think you missed two 15 yard fouls that helped us win.

Al, yes there is and some honest fans can admit we got lucky. I just find an attack oriented thread after we won a playoff game to be foreign.

Luck is when something very unlikely happens, in our case, it was in three's. A fumble when everyone knew Cincy should have run out the clock and just held on to the ball. Then Back to back silly personal fouls that cost the Bengals 30 yards moving Boswell into range in a rainy day.

To have these three things happen at the very end of the game is just lucky, or if you prefer very unlikely. I can not recall one Steeler win where the team was more fortunate late in the game.

I don't find the fact that burfict committed a personal foul to be "very unlikely", Hill fumbling was just dumb on his part. He should have protected the ball, but I would not call that "very unlikely"....

now the last flag was the only "gift" but given the characters involved, I would not call that happening during an injury timeout "very unlikely" either.

The Steelers won because they took advantage of the bungles mistakes and kept cooler heads when the game was on the line. The Steelers players should have been the ones pissed because of the cheap shot on Brown, but they played it cool and let the dumbasses from cincy **** themselves....

none of this is "very unlikely" In my opinion

No he is not, he has only coached in 2 divisional playoff games.

Don't confuse them with facts. 3-0 sounds so much better.

Cooler heads, LMFAO. We allowed a stupid, hot headed assistant coach go on the field and he should have been penalized which would have put us 15 yards outside of FG range with no AB and a Qb That couldn't complete a long sideline pass to get us in FG range. We won because the refs missed an easy penalty on our dumb assistant coach yet people here want to congratulate him on a dumb move that only Tomlin would allow. Think Noll or Cowher allow the moron to go on the field EVER ?

there has been enough discussion here to show you that this is bullshit. Videos and Gifs have been posted showing that the bengal players initiated the confrontation with Porter and he was easily the coolest head in that situation. Your trolling bullshit is getting old.

I don't want to sound all Bengalish, but maybe it's time for some ******* house cleaning.

Goddammit

THE LATE 4TH QUARTER FUMBLE WAS NOT A FLUKE. GET OFF THAT BROKEN RECORD. THE BALL WAS, INTENTIONALLY, STRIPPED BY THE DEFENDER!!!!!! IT WAS NOT IN ANY WAY IMAGINABLE "LUCK".

Multiple coaches have been walking onto the field after injuries like that FOREVER. I love this notion from a lot people that Joey Porter being on the field is like some crazy *** thing that has never happened in the history of football before.

Here's the Bungholes earlier in the same game after Bernard was injured:

I don't care if Joey Porter ripped his shirt off, smeared blood all over his face and demanded people come and fight him. If you are STUPID enough to engage, then you get what you get.

I give Mr Tomlin some credit for it yes. But lets be honest the Bengals beat themselves more than we beat them.

In the 29 minutes the officials were calling penalties against the Bengals, the score was:

Steelers 12
Bengals 0

In the 31 minutes the refs did not penalize the Bengals even once, while penalizing the Steelers 7 times for 107 yards, the score was:

Steelers 6
Bengals 16

How was it the Bengals beat themselves? Had it not been for the uneven officiating, they wouldn't have even been in the game.

Did you take a break from watching Tom Brady film?

So if the penalty that Porter should have been assisted was done then everyone here would still be loving this aging thugs act? We lose the game but hey Peezy is the man, LMFAO, he is a dumbness and a poor coach. Our LBs were underwhelming once again this yea and can't rush the passer for shot, not surprising since Peezy was the master of unblocked sacks or beating RB, rarely best a tackle for a sack, kinda like his worthless project Jarvis, wonder why Jarvis hasn't developed any counter moves to his sad "speed" rush.

Again. NO ASSISTANT COACHERS are allowed on the field . A penalty should have been called and Porter will be fined by the NFL. Imagine the hatred for Porter if we lost the game due to this thug wanting the limelight. Hopefully someone again shoots him.in the ads in Denver again to keep this thug under control, embarrassing ads who the rest of the NFL hates.

Head of officiating said if the refs did not think he should be out there they would have told him to leave not thrown a flag. drop your lame *** bullshit or go post elsewhere.

It's nice that you also completely neglected the picture of all the bungle coaches on the field as well. Including one in a gray shirt mixing it up with the steelers with hill. What about the noncall and that jackass burfict running all the way to the locker room with 1:53 on the clock? How about all the times these bungle players came onto the field to start ****? Or the many times they took their helmets off on the field of play? Also, it's been noted that other coaches are in fact allowed on the field with the authorization from an official. How in the **** does anyone know he didn't receive said "ok" from an official? And you can say "imagine the outrage HAD the steelers lost" til you're blue in the ******* face; it didn't happen and we're going to denver.

I don't understand why this douche continues to show up here. He's the same sack of **** who told me Le'veon Bell was going to be a humongous bust because he averaged like 3.8 ypc or however much it was in his rookie season, especially because 4 ypc is the standard for a rookie rb!

Wait a second. The steelers created their own fortune on a play called the "IMMACULATE RECEPTION," but Ryan shazier, having enough sense and savvy to pry a football from a running backs hands, didn't create their own fortune? I'm really dumbfounded at how you can really stand by that statement. Especially when the former play has been dubbed "IMMACULATE!"

by his definition, luck is something "very unlikely to happen" so obviously a play like the immaculate reception has happened multiple times since then....I remember several times teams fumbled the ball late in the 4th quarter or had personal fouls that set up winning scores (granted not many like the second gift one from pacman)

History has shown the immaculate reception is way more unlikely than a late game fumble or penalty.....

Especially since it only happened once. Ever. It was such an amazing play that NFL Network Football Life, ran a riveting hour on it! An hour on one play. Not only was it insane that it was 4th and long in the closing minutes, Bradshaw threw a prayer to Fuqua and Tatem knocked the ball backward on a bone-crushing hit that may be penalized today, but an offensive player touching the ball in that situation was illegal then. The play was so controversial, Madden still can't talk about it, 40+ years later without getting upset about it. To this day it is ruled the greatest single play in football history, due to its improbability, and due to its scope of being the winning play of a playoff game.

Not only was it the winning play in the playoffs, it was the Steelers first playoff win in franchise history. Nearly 40 years of being the laughing stock of the NFL, it took a prayer to win their first playoff game. Immaculate, it the only way to verbalize that play effectively.

You see a ton of games won by a PI call late, allowing a quick TD or FG. Getting one penalty to put you in a winning position isn't rare at all. As we have already stated ad nauseum, the fumble wasn't a "gift" either. Getting the second to make it a much easier FG is unlikely, but the Steelers had time to run one play, probably, if they needed a few yards.

My definition of luck is something out of your control. Like the Bengals giving us 30 yards in back to back plays when we had little time and Ben couldn't throw it far.

But really we were luckier.

McCaskey called heads, and when Rozelle flipped the 1921 silver dollar in the air it came down tails. While Rooney and Noll beamed triumphantly, Chicago Sun-Times writer Jack Griffin bellowed from the back of the room “McCaskey, you bum, you can’t even win a coin toss!”

The reason for Rooney and Noll’s elation had to do with the unanimous consensus No. 1 draft pick that season—a strong-armed quarterback from Louisiana Tech named Terry Bradshaw
