Who's Knoll and Hamm?
My kids can't distinguish the difference between George Washington's voice and Abraham Lincoln's - is that a problem???

What if he was listening to an old broadcast? Just saying...let's not crucify him - not enough facts...
It was the "Knoll and Hamm" line of questioning that likely caused the confusion.
Besides Chuck NOLL and Art Rooney Sr.'s pictures can be found in about a half dozen places around Heinz Field.
Me thinks Markus Wheaton was being the prankster.
All they need to know is we need a 7th Lombardi and how to score TDs.
What is so surprising about a player not knowing the history of the team ? I am sure that they come into Pittsburgh to play football, just out of college and the last thing on their minds would be researching the teams past. I think they more likely would have their agent check into the solvency of the organization to ensure their checks clear.
Honestly, how many of us can quote the history of our own workplace or even city... As football fans of Pittsburgh we are a bit fanatical and know those minor details, but most people don't know every owner, or manager in their own workplaces...

They were sketches. The first was Noll. Wheaton was asked who the greatest coach in Steeler history was as a hint. He still didn't know. The Chief he was clueless on also. And he wasn't kidding ......just didn't know.
He wasn't kidding and we're not talking about Browns of the '50's. We're talking about the people still mentioned today. Chuck NOLL (happy Quick Draw?) was just honored by the Steelers. His initials were MW's helmet. I'm sure there's pictures of the Chief in the facilities. I'll admit, Jack HAM (QD) may not be recognized by some current players. But Noll and Art Rooney? Come on.
What? They teach that on that limey island??? I'm sure they know what Prince Charles ears looks like by silhouette!
I'm also sure Wheaton knows who the HOF WRs in Pittsburgh are.
They sell it chipped at Izely's.

Noll retired and Rooney died before he was born, and he's not from Pittsburgh. Not so surprising.
But he got it, Right?? If you want to be the best in Pittsburgh, you have to know who you have to pass first on the all time chart...
so what?

My buddy just met him yesterday and said he was dumb as a box of rocks.
Only if your kids are blind, and in the same room as Washington & Lincoln, trying to have a conversation.
I think it would be good for when kids get drafted out of college to at least know something about the organization they are going to be played for, just as we do research when interviewing for jobs.. then again some athletes are all body and no brains and somehow just manage to pass (despite more stress on grades and conduct than previous generations).
