This is a ******* embarrassment. How many times can this kid kill us while we have someone we traded a 4th round pick for just rotting away on the sidelines? I've been praising Tomlin lately but he has made some terrible calls in this game, including leaving Blake out there, How can you throw for 450+ on the Seahawks and LOSE?!

Blake ******* SUCKS. Get rid of this kid NOW .. I'm sorry but he has damn near single handedly let this team down today

Yeah it is a fail from coaching not benching him by now.

FAIL

It's bad enough he can't cover but he can't tackle either. He might as well not be on the field.

What is the point of his existence? Boykin was a playmaker at UGA, a playmaker in Philly, we trade him for a 4th/5th, and all of a sudden he doesn't exist in favor of a kid whose pathetic play cost us this game.

No way the trio of Boykin /Gay/Cockwell/

isn't better than what Blake brings

no ******* way

this game wasa wake up call its time to start boykin, Blake is just to small to play on the outside he is at his best in the slot.

just this game was a wakeup call to bench him?

have you been watching the ******* games?

His miscues were not just limited to Defense, he managed to screw up on special teams too.........on multiple occasions.

That is why he is active on game day.......what he can do on defense.....He can do for our very special teams......

Blake made a couple picks in earlier games. That's the only reason I can see him still in there. With his penalties, poor coverages and blown coverages today, he was easily responsible for 14, if not 21 points.

It's a fail on the stubborn HC for not benching him a long time ago.

Tomlin rolls his eyes at you...

There was two consecutive plays in the 3rd quarter where the ball was caught by the WR being covered by Blake. Blake came up to the WR didn't wrap up but made a hit and both times the WR shook the hit off and kept on going.

I don't understand giving up a 4th rounder for Boykin and not playing him this season. He can't be much worse than Blake. This was Blake's worst game.

I still wonder in the back of my mind I can't help but wonder what Troy Polamalu must be thinking right now about his former team.

Copy and pasted from my Pom Pom post:

Blake has shown he lacks the technique to play consistent football and is a liability on the field. He trips over his feet each and every game, due to poor footwork and even poorer body positioning. It looks like he's on rollerskates as comic relief in a cartoon. If we replace him with Golson or Boinkin, we may have a shot to improve on defense. Otherwise, this is the definition of insanity. Keep putting Blake out there and expecting different results.

It goes beyond this. He named him the STARTING CORNERBACK out of training camp. Blake had no business being anything more than our No. 4.

A REAL head coach would put him on waivers.

This team has lost how games now because of late long TDs because they can't tackle or cover.

Tomlin is a pathetic mess.

I can bet a sammich and a 6 of Iron city that every opposing teams QB looks at the schedule and circles the Steelers secondary. If this team doesn't score 35+ it a mess.

I don't want to look back,I get too pissed off. Was that not Blake that committed the 2 penalties on special teams as well?

I think he is a ok backup

you need depth

but a starter?

no fricken way

Blake cost the game. I will say that Bryant had a few key drops and the way the offense was moving, possibly 21 points on the boards as well. I should put this in the pom pom thread but the Steelers played a more physical game plain and simple. Blake and Bryant had mistakes that cost this team today

Martavis' drops were mostly incredibly well-covered and would have been really difficult catches. Not necessarily excusing him, but he was out there fighting for it.

yeah I think no way you blame the O for this game.... Although not scoring late and settling for a FG didn't help...

He had his hands on it. Hard yes but he still had his chances

If I remember correctly, the organization made a fairly big deal about bringing in Boykin, who did have a decent time in Philly. It makes no sense whatsoever that you bring in a strong prospect, give up a 4th rounder, and not play him. He must have banged Tomlin's wife.

well apparently per Steelers Depot Blake is playing through a fractured thumb?

even more reason to not play a player who is a career backup at best.

So again coaches knowing what they know/knew had no business starting him

only one word sums it up

FAIL

I don't care what Boykin did to piss someone on the coaching staff off, he needs to play next week. If I have to watch Blake get burned and then try to knock a WR down with his shoulder while his arms are hanging down by his side one more time, I'm going to projectile vomit. I also don't care that Blake plays outside and Boykin is better in the slot. Boykin CANNOT be worse than Blake. Period.
