I have to tell you I struggled to read this and received a headache after I finished with it. This is so indicative of the athlete that gets pushed along in HS and goes on to a major university for his football skills and can't even construct a proper sentence. We do not have our priorities straight in this country when you read total garbage like that. They learn absolutely nothing in the classroom for the time they are in school. The Bills invested heavily with this pick and it sure looks like it may blow up right in their faces.

The real issue is that he's attacking people with what he implies are "lesser jobs" or lesser lives". He lives a life of privilege and luxury. Is it a physical game? Sure? Are there serious risks of injury? Of course. But for that he is compensated literally millions of dollars, a great deal of which is guaranteed up front. He's got nothing to complain about. He has signed a contract not only with the team, but through extension with the fans of that team. It is his responsibility to represent them.
He's doing a piss poor job of it.

Probably graduated summa cum laude... but for Clemson so it's not worth much.
Personally, I think it's ignorant at the least and racist at the worst, to label anyone black who is speaking/writing in broken English as using Ebonics. What would I rather someone call it? How about "uneducated" or "****** grammar". That's what you'd call it if he were white.
And while we're on it. "The Race Card" thing is about played out too. Some folks say some stupid, prejudiced, racist crap and when they get called on it they play the "Reverse Race Card" ... i.e. "Oh, there you go playing the race card" in an attempt to switch the heat from themselves to the person who actually pointed out the ignorance of their statement. Guess what? If the person speaking hadn't made it an issue of race with their ignorance, then there wouldn't be a reason to call them out. That's not playing "The Race Card", that's pointing out stupidity, ignorance, prejudice and possibly racism.
Not saying there are a lot of racists on this board. However, there are a lot of statements that get posted that at the very least are ignorant and show a basic lack of tolerance for the thoughts and feelings of anyone who is not Caucasian. I usually just try to ignore them because there are many more folks on here who are not ignorant and intolerant.
Now, back to the original issue. It wouldn't surprise me if Martavis presents as as uneducated as Sammy when writing. But hopefully he'd be smart enough not to put that **** on twitter. Ya dig?

That's a lot of assuming, especially since Martavis has actually dealt with his fair share of ignorant fans trying to rip him apart for that suspension. He didn't lash out at them and call them losers. He put his head down, did the work he needed to do and came back to the team with a "lets get to work attitude". So no, I will not "assume" they are the same. Might as well lump LeVeon Bell in there too, I mean he got busted for weed too...he must be the same egotistical asshat that Watkins is.
I could care less about the grammar, listening to interviews throughout the league you'll see plenty of that...it's the attitude towards the fans. Him going to his agent to have him complain to the Bills about his lack of targets, demanding 10 targets a game. The dude is a headcase...Martavis has not displayed ANY of that type of attitude.
I work with Martavis first cousin. He was his High School QB back at his first High School he attended. He said his family has been trying to get him help for a few years. He said this was his first real attempt at trying to quit.
What I read had very little Ebonics and a whole lot of piss poor grammar and spelling. The fact that a black person is using ****** grammar and incorrect spelling does not make the language he's using "Ebonics".
So, yeah, I would agree that Watkins sounds dumb. I would agree that he used poor grammar and his spelling is atrocious. I disagree that he was using Ebonics. And I disagree with the notion that every dumb *** person using ****** grammar and spelling, who also happens to be black, is using Ebonics.
But **** it, this is the football area of a Steelers message board and most likely not the place to have long, drawn out discussions on race, tolerance and ignorance.
