Our Defense....

a lot of young guys in waiting and on the PS that could develop as well. Chick, and our two young CB draft picks. the future is looking bright for Ben's last few years.

fyi this team is a different team with Bryant in there. a potent offense is our best defense...

You still need a QB to get the ball to him and the other WR's. Jones has at least showed he can do it in less than half a game....Vick not so much in about 3 games.
 
Good drafting.

Good coaching.

Good game planning.

Good players making plays.

Anyone who says any different don't know this team.
 
I think the only area butler needs to address are size matchups, I know MT has not been very happy with cortez but for for those matchups vs bigger WR's you will have to get both him and boykin in and perhaps play gay at fs and move mitchell to ss occasionally. ESP when we face Cincy. I would like to see Cockrell who has been aggressive but late getting back play closer to the L.OS and some bump n run.

Another area that stood out today was Gay's and the rest of the defense tackling today.
 
Once they get back injuries/depth, it could be exciting.

I like the idea of him. But he is a slot CB, and questionably outside capable.

His lack of reps is concerning, for whatever reason he hasn't played.

I am not ready to hand him anything until he earns it in practice....

Disagree with offensive coaching. You don't go for 2 when you are up 2. On the 2nd Martavis TD, even though they scored, I think that should have been a running play so Arizona can call a TO. You are up 3, if that's an incomplete it's now 3rd down and Arizona has 2 minute warning and 2 TO's. But yes the result of the pass was exhilarating!

Even though Laundry played great today, I hope Ben comes back next week. They can win against KC with Ben not playing great, and he can shake out the cobwebs against KC rather than the ultimate pretenders that are the Bengals.
 
Defense allowed big plays and got shredded on the ground early, but they held pat. I think we are getting better pressure from the defensive line and the back end of the defense is playing better--particularly Mitchell.

When its an obvious running down situation, a pass like that into the zone is actually a pretty good call if you can make it. Arizona was expecting us to try to be running out the clock there... its worth taking a shot at the first down if you aren't assured the ability to run out the clock... keeps them and future teams honest... Bryants RAC there is already one of the season's best... what a difference that kid makes

Nope. I disagree. Play to win. I will give the 2 pt play. Even right before half....just run it out and get to half time. The past to Bryant was a good call to me.

That's what I've been saying! I havnt heard his name called at all this year giving up a completion. He's been shut down, our best corner by far.
 
Let's not overlook the great job Robert Golden did in his fill-in role today. He had the 2nd most tackles including a pass defense.

Butler gave him the highest praise before the game:

"If I trusted anybody to be ready on this defense, it would be Robert," said defensive coordinator Keith Butler. "He studies the game. He works at his craft. He’s a very smart football player, very good above the neck. He doesn’t get out of position a lot. I’m very comfortable with him."

it was a good safe pass....Bryant just took it to the house....odds are a run is stopped and they punt with plenty of time left for the cards to do something....
