Being reported we will go with Boswell

From Giants web site

2. Originally undrafted out of Rice, Boswell signed as a rookie free agent with the Houston Texans but was released prior to the start of the 2014 season. He was later added to their practice squad and released a week later on Sept. 30.

3. In four preseason games with Houston in 2014, Boswell made both of his field goal attempts from 33 and 44 yards. He averaged 63.5 yards on 10 kickoffs with two touchbacks. Boswell also punted 15 times, averaging 44.3 yards per attempt while landing six inside the 20-yard line.

4. Boswell, 6-2 and 185 pounds, was one of the top long distance kickers in the country at Rice, where he became the second player in school history to top 300 career points. He finished just two points shy of the Rice career scoring record. He connected on 14 kicks from 50 yards or more during his college career, including three from 55-plus yards.

5. A native of Keller, Texas, Boswell prepped at Fossil Ridge High School and was the fifth-ranked kicker in the country by Rivals.com. He was named to the Associated Press All-State first team and to the Texas Sportswriters Association Class 5A All-State second team as a senior. Boswell was also selected to play in the 2009 US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Big leg!!

A young man with a lot of upsides. Welcome to the 'burgh, Chris!

Sounds promising. Is Suisham's career done with an ACL injury or is he slated to return?

Kicker #4. Ugh......

Big leg????? 10 kickoffs 2 Touchbacks???? Sounds like Sushi to me...

Great, now, let's see what Coach Shades and Haley do after he misses a kick. They'll probably split Vick out wide at WR to catch a pass from Brown on a 4th and 1. They'll never see that coming!

Preseason coach's purposely tell kickers to not kick touchbacks so they can evaluate kick off coverage.

Not done, he's expected to be back in camp next year. He signed a 5 year extension in 2014. He has two things going for him with the injury; it happened early (HOF game) giving him the extra time to heal and rehab and secondly, the injury was to his plant leg not his kicking leg.

I guess you would have sent Scobee out there to miss a 51 yarder, and give the Rats the ball at the 41. The play call sucked, but the decision to go for it made all the sense in the world.

I'd sooner have Sushi back next year.

This kid looks legit, his onside kick technique is awesome too.

Spoiler alert.. he's not going to make every kick. But if he can make 3 of 4 in a game and all extra points and throw in touchbacks.. I'll take that.

Scooby Scooby doo we hardly knew you
but it's time for you to go now

hee hee he he

Did he tear it making a tackle or was it a fluke injury?

Boswell's senior year at Rice he was 6/9 from 40-49 and 2/6 from 50+.
