Do we already have a thread/forum? I'll delete if so.

Just flippin around. LSU whippin that Pacifist Chicken *** (thats what Steelerlyn's feelings are today about War Eagle)

Ohio State not looking like #1

Im waiting for UT/Cal

yeah I really don't have a team but like watching the close matchups.................

I mostly follow the Texas teams and the SEC cause I get the broadcasts. Id like to watch a little more UT but they have this bullshit Longhorn network and its not available oustide of the Austin area.

Not happy with my Buckeyes. I think the announcer had it right when he said they seem to be acting like FSU was last year .. a little "entitled". Last year was last year boys. You don't get anything this year based on last year's performance.

Yep. Pacifist ******* Chicken. No War Damn Eagle today. Muschamp is an embarrassment to everything defensive. Jeremy Johnson must have some major dirt on Malzahn...that's the only thing I can figure as to why Malzahn kept him in the whole game. What a clusterfuck of ineptitude.

I listened all week to how bad the SEC was because they lost a game (Arkansas) and didn't play well against a sub-par team (Auburn). I've watched several shows since OSU squeaked by a nobody today and not ONE word of Big Ten bashing like the SEC got last week. Neither Arkansas nor Auburn were national title contenders but everyone thinks OSU at least gets to the title game. But somehow not a word about the big ten not living up to expectations when their top team can't even blow out a nobody at home... Hell they don't play a real team all year outside of Michigan St. But that's ok because M. State doesn't play anyone outside of OSU.

Not that anybody in the football world cares, but my Indiana Hoosiers beat WKU. 3-0 baby!!!

While I agree that tOSU played a horrible game. I wouldn't exactly call NIU a "nobody" they were ranked in the top 25 several times last year. They are the returning three time champions of their conference. The conference that produced my Alma Mater, The University of Toledo. The same University of Toledo that beat Arkansas last week.

Can't account for why the media does the things it does. However, if that's the way they are covering things ... it's great to see them finally start to treat the SEC the way they've treated other conferences for the last 10 years.

Toledo might beat Iowa State.

Looking pretty good for that right now. Hopefully it continues

Edit: I wonder if Bielema finally got the memo that he should worry about his own schedule? Arkansas has lost two straight to unranked teams since he cast his covetous eye and slanderous tongue northward to Columbus.

The SEC won how many championships over the past 10 years? They've deserved what they got. Now when they have one "bad" weekend where ONE team actually loses people think the conference isn't that good? It's stupid. Nobody every treated the Big 10 like that. NIU is a nobody. If they were so good then tell me what the line was on the game. And again nobody is sweating it. Everybody knows OSU plays a horrible schedule and are basically penciled into the playoffs because of it. So nothing they do effects the rest of the conference. But if *GASP* Arkansas loses that means the SEC isn't that good this year. It's bullshit.

Now see, I mentioned the Arkansas thing because I find it absofuckinglutely hilarious that Bielema opened his mouth and his team loses to two unranked teams in a row. But if you look around the top 10, it doesn't matter what conference, the ranked teams are having trouble/not looking good.

So, I guess if a top 10 SEC/PAC 12/Big 12 etc. team wanted to raise the issue of tOSU's struggles, they should probably do so on the field with superior play.

How can they do that when OSU won't play anybody? They play ONE ranked team all year. Other conferences play real ranked teams. Alabama plays what 5 or 6? Hell they've already played more ranked teams in 3 weeks than OSU plays all year. So if anybody needs to do their talking on the field it's OSU.

You answered your own question. If they want to show that they are better than tOSU, and they are playing more ranked teams (talk about SEC bias), then actually beating those ranked teams would do the trick wouldn't it? Not losing two in a row to unranked teams or losing to Stanford or letting SMU hang with you til the 4th quarter, etc. etc.

Truthfully, if tOSU doesn't get it together, I think the question becomes academic because that defense, while it is playing lights out, needs the offense to start producing or it will wear out as the year goes on.

You are having issues with this I see. OSU is ranked #1 and won't fall regardless of how they do on the field as long as they keep beating the horrible teams they are playing. While other teams play real ranked teams OSU has a cakewalk to the playoffs. They get to play their 3rd and 4th stringers and rest their starters while other teams have to play their starters longer etc...

So it isn't settled on the field. If it were then OSU would play a real schedule and not resort to playing a bunch of nobodies.

I also noticed you said letting SMU hang around... well OSU let that nobody team hang around with them but it won't hurt them will it?

Hmmm ... I see you haven't actually paid any attention to tOSU games. They aren't doing much resting of starters as they are really struggling on offense. And, nobody was complaining about weak schedules when Alabama was playing little sisters of the poor for its non-conference games during the BCS era. I think the problem that some SEC fans have is that they are used to having the #1 ranked team come from their conference and getting all the benefits that comes with that. This year is different.

The SEC has had a conference championship game for years. OSU has played a **** schedule for years. So it's a bull **** argument. They aren't resting starters yet but they'll get to it. Also if OSU is having such issues with bad teams then why rank them #1? You can't have it both ways.

"I" didn't rank them #1. I also didn't rank an Alabama team that is having issues at QB/CB/Edge as #2. What the SEC has done historically should not be used to establish anything as far as rankings THIS year. Yet, we saw it early with a ranked Arkansas team.

The SEC East has 3 teams that are 3-0. None of them have played teams that are ranked. None of them has played teams that WILL BE ranked.
In the West, at least LSU has played two ranked teams. Ole Miss played two unranked, weak teams before tonight. And the way Alabama has played this game, I'd have a hard time keeping them in the top 10. Btw, Does anyone in the SEC play defense anymore?

So OSU shouldn't be ranked #1 because of what they did last year right? But they are. Nobody in the country plays defense anymore. You think OSU plays defense? Maybe against Saint Mary's school for the blind but they won't against any real teams. Bama is over rated IMHO. But that doesn't mean OSU is great. Both OSU and Bama have QB issues. But again Bama plays a tough schedule so they don't have time to figure it out like OSU who doesn't play anyone.

IMHO there is a lot of parody in college ball but because of OSU's schedule nobody will find out how good they are until the playoffs. It's a shame really.

They played pretty good defense in the Championship series last year. And I think you are getting off track because I never said tOSU WAS great. But, as a tOSU fan, I'll take that #1 ranking and watch two highly ranked SEC teams NOT play any defense.

And as I speak, Coker is intercepted to end any chance of Bama winning.

As far as Bama's schedule. The reason they play what is perceived to be a tough schedule is that the AP early in the season continues to rank SEC teams based upon conference affiliation. Many of those teams will be unranked later in the year. So, Bama beats up on (or used to) weaker SEC teams that are ranked early. But they also do things like schedule Middle Tenn. State, Louisiana Monroe and Charleston Southern .. Actually, if you look at most SEC team schedules, you'll see your "Charleston Southerns" and MTSUs spread throughout these so called "tough" schedules.

In any event Vader, you raise some valid points. The thing is, that as a tOSU fan, they really aren't my concern. Just as when the SEC was alleged to be dominant, similar points were ignored. I don't know what team you are a fan of in college ball, but I hope they have as good a season as you would wish. Unless, of course, they play tOSU at any time.

I'm off to sleep so I can wake up and put some meat on the grill before the Steelers game.

Looks like Cardele went off the rails on twitter a bit tonight. No OSU fan here. I just got no love.

But I did thoroughly enjoy Ole Miss getting up on Bama.

Texas made me cry.

Looks like my hometown is laying wood as a ranked team should be doing over a small school. #beardown

Vader all the rankings are horseshit till the middle of the season anyhow. 10 SEC teams in the top 25? PLEASE!!!!!! I'm just glad we have a playoff system now (wish it was 8 teams though). Makes you wonder how many championships the SEC really would've had in the years past.

Vader, with all due respect, you're making your own point AGAINST the SEC when you say Ohio State doesn't play anybody. For years, all we've heard is how great and dominant the SEC is (while they've been given every advantage for over a decade). Who does the SEC play out of conference? Nobody! It's easy to sit there and say "We're so much better than everybody else" when you don't play anybody else. Last year, Ohio St versus Bama in the playoff was one of the first times the SEC was forced to play a major out of conference opponent. (And don't give me when Bama beat Notre Dame. The Irish had NO BUSINESS being anywhere near the championship that year). How did that game last year work out?

I'll admit I'm a Buckeyes fan, but I'm VERY concerned with how we've played, particularly in the first half of every game this year. They better get their crap together by November, or Mich State will steamroll them.

I'm not saying the SEC sucks, that would be ridiculous. But the plain and simple fact is, they've had their rear ends kissed for YEARS, and been given advantages. The past couple of seasons have proven they are NOT the end all, be all that we've been constantly told.

Not that anybody in the football world cares, but my Indiana Hoosiers beat WKU. 3-0 baby!!!

I care because I graduated from WKU. We had an 11 point halftime lead and could not hold on. Enjoy the win because you're going straight to he**.
