Vick meeting with Steelers

they say dogs are a reflection of their owners so again the pics of your dogs tells us a lot....

Yes Dobermans are smart loyal and intelligent.

I agree.

So what did you name your jack ***?

And no He has not gotten under my skin to say the least...i'm sitting here in Cali enjoying time poolside....on steelernation.com

it's all good yo

dude paid his debt....and this is theatre.

I guess he is sposed to pick garbage in Mexico City or something.

I hope he doesn't play a down for the Steelers....but for different reasons than most.

I can see arguing your point but now maybe you should just be banned.

OK. Enjoy being a ravens fan. P.S. Never played fantasy football in my life. But Peterson is all over the "who are your top three picks" thread.
No need to be a fan of the ravens, it will be easy to do with out.

As we've no doubt seen here, Vick brings out some harsh opinions of people who otherwise would get along fine. Do we REALLY want that in our locker room?

Why bring in a polarizing figure like Vick who obviously is going to create division in our locker room?

There are lots of guys who will not make rosters who are way better than Landry we could pick up for a back-up role which doesn't really matter. (if Ben goes down, our hopes of another SB are down w him)

wait, what in the world are you referring to here? locker room? This is a message board, we have no idea how Vick will be received in the Steelers locker room, IF he signs with us. Lets remember that we're fans, this is a message board, discussions are going to happen...we don't need to pretend we're actually a part of the roster or front office.

They have phones on a garbage truck?

Now a days any job is a good job. I see no problem with having a job working off a garbage truck.

chances are there will be dog lovers in the locker room

even a slight chance that it would cause problems, wouldn't be worth the risk IMO

For a back-up QB??? No, not worth the risk. Most of us bleed black and gold. The locker room may be different in that the priority may not be the team (although Ben has already weighed in) but in their own self-preservation BUT they will be NO different in that some will be dog lovers and find Vick's past and the fan reaction too controversial for the associated gain. He is a Back-up QB, after all.

Ben doesn't think it would be an issue, and he has a dog foundation...

I think he is trying to be politically correct, or hell maybe it won't be a issue for him.

But that doesn't mean there won't be others who feel differently.

Garrett Hartley has a hunting show. He doesn't hunt deer only on his hunting show. Even a quick look at images shows he takes all kinds of trophy animals including alligators and big cats. So lets take bear hunting for an example (and keep in mind I'm a hunter and don't give two ***** about any of this). But on a bear hunt the animal is lured into the area with a drum of food. A bear is one of the smartest animals there is and has huge familial ties to its young. Once the bear is chosen it is often shot with an arrow. The animal hauls off into the woods where it bleeds out quickly or slowly depending upon the quality of the shot. Then the bear is skinned and beheaded with its body left in the woods to be cleaned by nature. so you tell me how that is any different once you eliminate the term legal and non legal. And he paid a much steeper price for his actions than AP did for beating his own child with a stick.

Whatever the hell Vick an AP has to do with bear hunting, but... AP did what he did out of anger and to discipline his kid. I don't condone it but I don't think it makes him as sick in the head as someone who tortures kids or dogs for amusement.

And I'm not talking about just dog fighting. I'm talking about Vick experimenting with different methods of killing dogs once he was done with them.

I'd wager that if a video existed of Vick torturing dogs to death, he would have never been given a second chance. But I guess it's easy for people to overlook without it.

I cheer for the STEELERS not any one player. There are some guys I very much respect from what I can see of their public personas I very much respect Heath Miller, Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, Jerome Bettis, Ben Roethlisberger (lately), Antonio Brown. But the real truth is I don't really know any of these people and anyone of them could be a totally useless human being. In the case of BR, many would make that argument for sure. I really could care less about Mike Vick one way or the other. If there is a better football solution to their current situation, I'd be fine with that. And though I disagree with Tomlin and have even called for his firing, I will say this. He very much seems like a highly principled, intelligent man with a pretty good sense of character. Now some of you are choosing to take a moral highground and no longer cheer for the Steelers and leaving this site. Go ahead. Perfectly within your right. Just don't come back and grandstand about these principals and go on and on in your farewell. Be like a bear and bleed out in the woods.
Cheers to all Steelers fans!!!!!!!!

If they sign him it will just be another reason to be done with homeboy and Colbert.

I don't think any of the regs are leaving, looks more like venting.

And I agree on the point that I root for the team and individual players.

As I would root against one if he is signed.
