Suisham Injured

With any luck he will be ok. If not better now than just before the season or just after it starts. Hopefully they will be able to find someone if it is serious.

It's being reported as potentially significant. Ugh...

I'm old as **** and think I could of made that tackle without injury

Hope he is OK. We looked at the available list and the herd is thin. Hopefully a good prospect out of college gets cut somewhere. That might be the best scenario. Available list is like Jay Feely, Garett Hartley and some guys I've never heard of.

I think Graham recently from the Saints is available.

Shayne Graham Released 37 NO
Mike Nugent UFA 33 CIN
Jay Feely UFA 39 CHI
Garrett Hartley Released 29 CLE
Billy Cundiff UFA 35 CLE

+ any cuts from teams that are currently carrying more than one K

Good thing we are thinking more touchdowns and less field goals this year. Hope Suisham is alright!

I did want to ask, did he get hurt as he was trying to make a tackle last night?

Yes looked like he might have done it when he was sliding in for the tackle or possibly during the run over to make the tackle. There were few bright spots last night from the coaching staff on down. I wonder if it might have been the wrong cleats for the field as there seemed to be some footing issues for more than one player last night. In contrast the vikes looked like they at least had their guys ready to play even though they were playing a lot of guys that will not be in the nfl soon.

Well, the kicking game is going to struggle if we have to bring in someone new.
It takes years to get acquainted to Heinz Field and how to kick their.

The Rat PK seems to have learned how.

Not a list I want to be picking from. Would probably say Nugent out of that bunch but guess it won't take long for a kick to get into camp with Suisham apparently done.

Dan Hrapmann had a very good camp for us in 2012, showing accuracy and better range than Suisham in the pre-season games. How good was he? Hrapmann was 8-8 on field goals, and I think had a long of 54+ yards!

He was cut from Miami in 2014, but could be worth a look.

Heinz Field is not nearly as tough as it used to be. The turf is much, much better now. And this season it'll probably be less windy in the open end since it's been partially closed due to adding seats.

Steelers K Shaun Suisham has told people he believes he tore his ACL in Sunday night's Hall of Fame game.
Suisham, who suffered the injury while trying to make a tackle, is undergoing a Monday MRI to confirm. It's a big blow to the Steelers, who lose a kicker that has gone 87-of-95 (91.5 percent) over the last three seasons. It also opens up a big fantasy opportunity as Suisham was the No. 7 kicker last year as part of Pittsburgh's high-powered offense. The best free agents available include Shayne Graham, Garrett Hartley and Rian Lindell.

We're ******. There is really nothing out there but old over the hill retreads like Shayne Graham

Hopefully his ACL is not torn and just sprained.

so we go for it on 4th down now. not a problem.
