So... you HAVE TO take a quarterback in this draft... who ya taking?

none of them

I'd take a chance on NDSU Cole Payton. He's only got one year of production so it wouldn't cost a premium pick. Maybe their 4th rnd comp pick, 135 at the very earliest, but the pick at 159 in the 5th may be a good spot. 6'3" 230, good runner and impressed at the Senior Bowl practices. Very tough competitor from what I've been reading. Some good clay to develop for that QB3/4 role.

If I had to choose from this draft- Nussmeier.

With Carson Beck a half centre metre behind.

Beck intrigues me because his good is really good and we now have an offensive coach who may be able to coach him out of the bad stuff. Tomlin would have focussed 100% on avoiding the negative and turned him into Kenny 2.0.

But I'd still prefer a 2027 guy.

I know Nuss has his concerns but the season before the injury was pretty impressive.

If you don’t want a QB in this draft it is a sign you have been Tomlinized, go seek help immediately.

Wait for next year is just the type of mentality that winds a team up with no QB year after year. We’ve done “wait for next year” too many times already.

A foundation isn’t built by “wait for next year” and the Steelers need to start at least digging the hole for the foundation and quit being scared cuz they screwed it up taking a swing at a KFP knuckleball.

There are several QBs in this draft that have equal to or greater upside than any QB we currently have in the roster. I trust this Mike will grab 1-2 of them that he feels will fit what he wants to run.

Nobody would have a problem if Pickett was taken in the 3rd where he belonged, reaching in the first round for a game manager in a soft QB draft is exactly what Tomlin did and hopefully they learned from.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the 6'1" and under QBs and I'm sure the team has different views, but if I had to pick one sleeper to look for on the pre-draft visits it would be Luke Altmyer from Illinois. He seems perfect for the WCO that MM will run. I was watching Illinois vs Washington yesterday to get a better look at who I think is the odds on favorite for pick 21 (WR Denzel Boston) and Altmyer shows a lot of toughness in the pocket and accuracy on his throws. He tended to miss high but he put it in some tight spaces too. He's definitely not a run first guy but has enough mobility to extend the play. Then I watched Illinois vs USC (what a great game btw) and saw more of the same. I'll be curious to see if they bring him in for a visit. I'd expect he'd go in the 4th.

Light in the pants and too little. Somebody is going to break him in the NFL.

Allar in the fourth. He has some tools that Big Mac could work with.
I'm not so impressed. Does he have all the tools? Yes. But, he wilts under pressure. You can't coach "cajones"

If he wasn't so old, I'd be intriqued by what Fagnano from UConn brings to the table ... as of now, I'd take a flyer on him in the 5th or 6th.

Paiva got dem nuts!!! He's a sleeper...

You can always play with yourself...

I'm taking Trindad in the 3rd.
I'm not sure where he's at with the draft eligibility, I know he was denied but now there's an appeal maybe?? I haven't followed too closely, but anyway...do you have concerns with the height? Latest report I saw say he was 5-11 7/8.
