Tomlin Presser! He’s Delusional

Said he was ok with the OL and that he saw an improvement with Broderick Jones.
Yeah, he only gave up one sack instead of three sacks like the prior week. Didn’t mention he was one of the worst graded OL for this game by PFF.
What the **** was he watching. Warren averaged 3.4 yards per carry. Rodgers was getting pressure all day.
Then to the defense. He actually made excuses can you imagine that. He said we have a lot of new players. We have some injuries. Then said they have to stay pretty basic with the schematics since the new guys are still learning it.
This is just more Tomlin bs! New guys! Look at Parsons in GB! The Packers know how to use him and they literally only had a few days to prepare him.
Injuries! BS! Every team experiences injuries. Have your backups prepared and ready to play.
Schematics! Like his defensive schemes are so sophisticated. More BS!
Also said his defense wore down toward the end of the game. More excuses!
Some NFL analysts were talking this morning about how the Steelers do not disguise their coverages. That OCs know how to manipulate these coverages.
Like I said in the summer, same ****,new year. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Yeah I for one sure am glad we let Harris and his awful 3.9 YPC go and gave Warren a new deal for his 3.4 YPC so far this year...

He's making excuses for the highest paid defense in the NFL. And he's making excuses by saying other teams are dealing with cohesion issues, HAHAHA, how can anyone stand to listen to this guy anymore.

None of these beat reporters would ask him any difficult questions. How about punting at almost midfield on 4th and 1 with the game tied at 14.

I’m sure Art Rooney II sees the failures/flaws just fine, you don’t become and stay rich without intelligence.

IMO he simply prioritizes having Tomlin as the head coach and how it ties into their family tradition of not firing a head coach, giving that head coach massive amounts of control over everything, and the legacy of the Rooney Rule over winning championships and being a top team in the league today.

It Art Rooney II valued post season success above all else he would have never allowed the last 8 years to happen without consequences for Tomlin.

It sucks big time for fans that above all else want to see this team at the level of competitiveness Cowher and Noll had it at.
 
He probably sincerely thinks they lost only because of the mistakes by Austin and Johnson. Nevermind they were heavily out-gained by the Seahawks.

There probably isn't going to be as much urgency from him as there should be in terms of improving the offense and defense.
 
The reporters should ask him how 6 net yards and 1 catch is all the top 3 most recent offensive draft picks have COMBINED for the season??

Wilson 1-7 yards
Is this the Standard we always hear about??
A combined stat even the worst teams in the league cannot begin to approach.

The Steelers defense is so complicated that none of the Steelers players can figure it out. Good news is that I have a solution to that problem - just ask opposing teams since they know exactly what the Steelers defense is doing!
 
I saw an Instagram dude show we faced the exact same play vs the Jets and Seahawks where they had double wings and crossed the WRs deep since we had a single high safety. The presentation of it was just elementary. The safety had to choose which guy to double. Easy throw for the QB.

Wilson's TD and Horton's TD used the exact same play. Literally nothing different than the color of the uniforms.

so if an amateur can read this, imagine what a pro reads.

to be fair, the train left Roman Wilson behind at the station last season and he's yet to get on it.
 
He's in full on "collect my DEI check" now. His take on defense has always been "make a play". He's got a bunch of veterans now and is waiting on them to make a play when is reality they are old, slow, don't want to get hurt and want to collect that paycheck as well.

He wasn’t great
He wasn’t awful

But PFF stats blow and should never be referenced in trying to make a point. Those stats are the biggest pile of garbage in football, an even bigger pile of garbage than the Steelers defense.

There never is.

In his defense…as a complete moron devoid of football acumen he shouldn’t have any urgency to change anything because it would be change for change sake without any solid fundamentals of why to change or what to change too.

He’s simply an inept coach. It’s 100 Art Nutting’s fault at this point. One shouldn’t expect a clown car driven by this crew to ever arrive at a new destination…they just circle around the circus and hope to find an exit.

Communication is once again the biggest problem, according to CMT. How long have we heard that one? 3-4 seasons now? Why is it so hard for this team? Is the defense that complex? If it is, you’d never know it by the way opposing offenses have dissected it. The excuses are old.
