What makes it an either or problem? I think its subpar coaching and subpar talent.

They're both an issue. Canada doesn't set up the players for success, but Pickett misses way too many of his limited opportunities. It's been a full seasons worth of games and he has only reinforced his worst habit and doesn't produced touchdowns. I hope his knee isn't a major issue, but the Steelers should already be thinking long and hard about his future.
If they fired Canada ahead of Pickett, we'd have a better idea about everyone on this offense. Instead, for some inexplicably reason, Tomlin kept him for not just a second year, but a third. Most of this team's issues are self inflicted.

First round pick. I would give more credence to the Pickett side if Canada wasn't there. Understanding that he also kills our line, rbs, wrs and tes with his play calls.

I should have put this in one post responding to both (I suck), but I am not willing to forego any offensive player 100% while Canada is in charge. His play calling literally is a negative for every O player on the field.

To me, Kenny has flashed enough talent that I am at least curious to see what he could do with another OC.
People claim he panics too much and doesn't look comfortable back there, but how comfortable did Ben and Trubisky ever really look in Canada's offense? They were much more experienced QBs in the league than Kenny.
Yes and he has some basic mechanics to clean up. Happy feet and drifting into pressure. I do believe under the right coaching staff it can be cleaned up. Not under this one obviously.

With the damage Canada has done, I'm not sure the Steelers can recover Pickett unless they bring a true offensive mastermind. One that has legit power over the offense and a potential HC in the future. If it's anything less, Tomlin is going to live in his fears and want to continue to win 17-14 type games. It's not so much that I don't think Pickett can be good, I'm just beginning to really doubt that can happen here under the current structure of the team.
Well I am a little consoled by the fact that the Stains lost. Thanks Rats for not entirely ruining my day.

There's little consistency yet, but there are some things that I like. He's a better athlete than I thought he was and can make the throws in obvious passing situations, like 3rd and long, that a lot of QBs can't.
He just doesn't often seem confident and decisive in his reads, but it's hard to say how much of that is him and how much is the scheme being BS and him getting smacked around everytime he tries to throw.
I am way past just beginning to doubt. I have graduated to I am 99.999999 percent confident no QB will thrive under Canada. Add that same percentage to how confident I am that the Steelers will bring in the coaches necessary to change the course.
The talent is there, for the most part, it's the coaching staff that doesn't utilize that talent correctly.
A fish rots from the head down. Shades is the issue, followed by all of his hires and other acolytes. Time to clean house.

I agree with most here. IF it were just bad calls and QB play, sure. It's not. Our OL just didn't forget how to block, our #1 rated college RB didn't forget how to run and our bevy of TEs, WRs and a QB with the requisite history of success all look like dogshit. That is NOT on the players.
Meanwhile, we got slammed by a team down to playing their 'least-best' options at the OL positions and we couldn't do the ONE thing we set out to do...stop the run. Likewise our all world OLBs were held without an impact for the first time this year? THAT ain't on the players either. We got out-coached from top to bottom.

Kenny needs a legit NFL OC to gauge whether or not he’s the guy or not.
It’s the OC and his schemes and playcalling.
Three Steeler QBs under this OC and all three not succeeding under this system of playcalling.
We will not know what we have here in Kenny under Canada. He’s being setup to fail and Shades is the perpetrator behind this. He brought him back rather than start clean in the off season with a new OC with new, fresh and innovative playcalling.
I was very impressed with the Texans young OC. A good one can make or break your QB and he’s playing to Stroud’s strength which is mobility.
Short, quick passes over the middle destroyed the Steelers overrated defense.
We need to find out about Kenny but we’re ruining him under Canada. Now he’s hurt on a stupid ******* third down and short pass play call.

They need accountability. Tomlin has layers of excuse between him and accountability. They need an HC who is the bottom line if that takes two ****** ones to find a great one. I'm ok with that.

He has never deserved this job. Bradshaw was 100 Percent correct. He’s never been anything but a cheerleader.

"Damage" is a good way to put it. I was watching Brock Purdy play in the late window, and all he did today was go 20-21 for 283 yards. He was the last pick in the 2022 draft. An afterthought. Yet here he is, absolutely thriving in an NFL system that actually puts players where they should be, and utilizes the whole field with plays that make sense.
I'm disappointed as hell with KP, but I have to wonder how he may have performed with the coaching and coordination in San Francisco...and how different Purdy might look under this bullshlt regime in Pittsburgh.
